My fiance and I bought this when we were expecting our first child and getting the nursery ready. This tool came in handy quite a bit when we couldn't swing a hammer because of our slanted ceilings and furniture that was already in place. It was great in replacing a piece of drywall that was behind a dresser, it made it so we didn't have to completely move the dresser just o do a repair. The lithium battery is really nice and the only thing I wish it has was a little more power, but it definitely gets the job done on most things.
I purchased this for myself as an investment when I found it on sale. I have not used it yet, but I definitely like the description and the technology of it. I am a homeowner learning more on how to do my own repairs, etc. I also like it because it is easy to use since I am a female and increasing in age. I highly recommend this for that someone special. Makes a great gift they'll appreciate. I plan to possibly use it this weekend and when I do, I will add to the review. Overall, it is still a good investment to have.
I was studding some floor joists and I had no room to swing a hammer to drive in 16d nails, so I purchased the Auto Hammer. This is the coolest tool invention ever! It is powerful and drove 16d nails with one hand and very little effort! i was truly impressed and I'm sure that I will find many uses for it in the future. Great job Craftsman!!
This is a tool that will complete your toolbox. You will wonder how you ever got along without it. It is lightweight, easy to use and requires very little effort on your part. No special directions needed. Just let it do the job you have. You hand will not feel tired nor will the grip cause you to have cramps in your hands or fingers like using a manual hammer can do after an extended period of time.
You do not need to worry about missing a nail head and hitting the surrounding area. Tight places are a breeze with this mighty tool. It does everything you would expect such a tool to...
read full review »The Hammerhead is handy for driving nails in tight spaces, it worked wonders for nailing down gang boxes between studs. The battery life is pretty good, and the charger is pretty quick. It is much more portable than my pneumatic nailer.
It is pretty loud, and doesn't nail staples very well. The auto-hammer is pretty handy to keep around, but it doesn't replace a good old fashioned hammer.
Was Christmas gift, very useful around home for small projects.
Okay... I haven't really used this for a real project yet but my sons and I have had a blast driving nails into the wall. It's crazy cool. I'm just trying to figure out what project to start.
I received the Hammerhead Auto hammer for Christmas 2009 from my mother, and ever since, I have used it to no end. I do construction and this thing is the best tool for the job. It has so many applications and uses. I cannot tell you how much value it has added to my extensive tool collection. It is great at getting into those hard to reach or work areas. I will always have it on my tool belt and in my garage for quick use. It will never be more than 10 feet away from me at any time. Whoever designed this, was one smart cookie. Give him a raise. I am going to buy another one and one for all my...

He was frustrated that he could not do the things around the house that he used to do. When I saw everything that the Auto Hammer could do. I knew it was exactly the tool my husband needs. It was our anniversary and I went out to the new relocated Sears store in our town. When he received the tool and started using it - he just loves being about to do odd jobs around the house. Great tool to have.
I have used this tool on a few occasions, but fortunately never bought one. First the magnetic end is on the side walls, so it does not nail straight even if you try to hold the nail. The tool is really only useful for smaller nails, and when you use smaller nails is usually finish work in which it mars the wood badly. The noise this tool makes is horrid, even with hearing protection it is very loud. I am sure there are some projects out there that this tool would come in handy, but none I would probably ever do. I will stick with pneumatic, or a good old fashioned hammer and leave this one...
read full review »I bought this tool to do a specific job where I needed to hang drywall in a tight location. Not only did the hammer get the nails right where they needed to go in the tight spots it also was able to drive in the nails in the not so tight spots where they were in knots in the wood and my arm strength with the hammer was not enough to do the job.
If you don't have one of these in your toolbox you are seriously missing out. In addition to the ability to hammer in tight spaces you get the power to muscle through some tougher materials where traditional hammers might not work as well. This makes the...
