Electric mower

I originally went to get a different mower and then chose this one. It is very quiet when it runs. I was easy to use for a small female. The cord does get in the way but it only adds about 5 minutes to your mowing experience. It ran great and I live that it is electric. I owuld recommend this product...

Let me start by saying that this was the first lawn mower I owned after buying my dream house with a fenced yard at a corner lot. As you can imagine I have a LARGE yard to mow. At first, this machine surprised my guy who used to cut the grass professionally as it easily mowed tall grass and weeds. I...

Craftsman 12 Amp 19&#34 Corded Electric... Reviews

I had used a gas mower all while growing up, but as a homeowner myself, I decided I want to try and get away from using a gas mower at my own home. I picked this up and the first thing you notice is that there is hardly any assembly involved. Just adjust the handle and you're set. If you have a larger backyard like me you will need a very long extension cord. The thing I love most about this mower is that you don't have to worry as much about maintenance with this mower as opposed to a gas mower. That being said, it does take longer to mow the yard, and as other reviews have said, you do have to...

I have owned this mower for a little over a year now and have regretted buying it since day one. I don't care how sharp you get the blade, this mower has no power and does not cut your lawn, it tears it. Every time I mow the lawn it looks like someone cut the lawn with a dull pair of hand shears. It is uneven and patchy. To add insult to injury it takes 2 to 3 times longer to mow than with a gas mower because you cant mow more than a 6 to 8 inch swatch without the risk of bringing the blade to a grinding halt.. I won't even get into the inconvenience of avoiding the electric cord while mowing although...

A Great Solution

I purchased it for my brother who is in a power wheelchair with very limited use of his left arm and hand. He has only used it once but is very pleased with the power and preformance. I believe that it will work well for his needs as long as he does not let the grass get to tall.

I have had this mower for 7 years and it has worked very well for me.  I have nothing but praise for this model.  I have not done any maintenance whatsoever, I keep it in the garage and plug it in whenever I need it.  No problems, starts right up.

However, if you are looking for an electric mower, you need to make sure that you can deal with the drawbacks of owning one.

Many who are giving it low marks would give the same low marks to any electric mower.  I will not take away any stars from this because of the fact it is an electric mower.  Electric mowers have inherent advantages; lighter...

I (heart) to mow now.

Awesome mower! It's perfect for my small corner lot.  Getting used to the cord is not all that bad and it is very light, quite,  and easy to use. It mulches so well that I don't use the bag at all and my lawn seems to be greener and thicker this season. I've gone all electric and sold the gas edger and blower. No more strained arm or back from pull starts, or ear blasting noise, exhaust fumes, or spilled gas or oil to deal with!

no need to buy gas again

works on great on my smaller lawn just make sure not to let it get to high.

In 7 years I've bought a new blade for it once.  Blades run about $14.  I sometimes run over chestnuts, small rocks and small sticks so it has had a workout over the years.  If the lawn becomes uneven, buy a new blade or sharpen the one you have.  this mower isn't meant for over 8" grass.  It will go thru it but it will just struggle and it will take longer.  Having the mulcher feature is a necessity for not having to bag grass all summer and the mower is light weight without the bag in back.

I have no complaints.  If you are Tim the Toolman Taylor and want extreme power go for a big gas...

my craftsman corded lawn mower is a very efficient machine such that i am recommending it to all who are in search of a lawn mower for their average size backyard/lawn.i now saved seventy(70) dollars a month which i am paying a contractor to do.just plug it and mow wherever you want. just like that.no need to for gas and oil.no sweat in unloading the cut grasses and installing back the rear bag.i would say that such machine can pay for itself in one season,in my case.

After 10 years of gas-powered mowing, I made the 'green' move to corded electric with this model.  Now I wish I had done so much sooner: this has a much easier start-up, storage, no hassles with operation, cutting power or clean-up.  As noted elsewhere, keep the blade clean and sharp, go slower than you're used to (with gas mowers), mow perpendicular and be aware of where your cord is unwinding.  The one-hand height adjustment works fine.  The Low handle angle does make it hard on taller operators to push comfortably, looks like it was designed to be pushed by someone 5 feet 4 inches tall (&...

Great mower...needs handle height adjustment

This mower was designed for someone who is 5'5 or shorter. I'm 5'11" and the handlebar is way too short for me. It wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have to mow that much, but now that I have a larger yard than before I am forced to sell it because my back just can't take being hunched over for an hour. Other than the height issue it is a great mower.

Good Value & Easy to Use

I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was virtually zero assembly, other than putting the netting on the basket. The height adjustment was the easiest of any of the other mowers. It is very quiet and it cut through some pretty thick grass with ease (it was 8 to 12 inches in places). The electrical line from the top of the handle to the motor slightly interferes with the hanging and removing the rear bag, but it is a minor inconvenience. The only fear I have is that I will run over my power cord. This would be the case with any corded mower, however. Overall, this mower is a great value.

So far so good!

I did a lot of online research before deciding to purchase an electric lawn mower. After reading reviews in which people complained about the batteries dying after about a year, I decided on a corded version. My previous mower was a pull start gas mower and was approximately 6 years old. It was a bear to start and I had to prime it tons of times and kind of lift and drop it onto the driveway a few times before it would start for the last two years. Then the last few times that I tried to start it I (nor my stronger friends) could start it at all. So today I plugged in my Craftsman corded mower... read full review »

Fabulous

I am a 60+ woman who cuts her own lawn.  This a great mower & mulcher.  I no longer have to fertilize my lawn because of the mulching that is done each time I cut the grass.  This is not  only beneficial for me but cuts down on the grass clippings that go into the garbage for pickup.  This machine requires NO outside maintenace--that is, oil change, tune up, etc.  All I do is hose it down after each cutting and once a year sharpen the blades.  All instructions come with the purchase.    The only drawback might be the electric cord.  Some people find this a nuisance.  I don't because...
