I have owned this mower for 3 months. It is easy and handy for my small yard. Nice to not have to store gas and oil inside my attached garage. Recommend if you have a lot small enough for using a corded mower and keep the lawn trimmed regularly since it lacks power to tackle overgrown grass.
...

Even with a relatively large yard, I found this mower a great option. It pushes easily, and the learning curve for using the cord was really short. We use a 100 ft. 12 ga. cord, which is heavy, but allows access to both front and back yards with only one outside outlet. Also, it can be turned over to clean housing and blade without any concern.
...

Great mower, great price! This mower was so easy to use right out of the box!

Tighten two knobs to lock the handle in place, attach the grass catcher bag, and I was mowing in under 15 minutes from taking the mower out of the box. Nice quiet electric sound. I tried the included bag at first to catch the clippings and found it very easy to attach and detach when it was time to be emptied. The bag size is just right so you don't have a heavy load to dump when it gets full yet large enough to not have to dump too often. I then put the included mulching piece back in the mower as I prefer to mulch my grass clippings. The single handle to raise and lower all 4 wheels at once was an unexpected plus. Very easy to adjust the height of all the wheels to cut the grass to your own desired height. No spark plug, no air filter, no oil, no priming the engine, no pulling to start, and no expensive gasoline needed with this electric mower. What a welcomed relief! The light weight of this mower allowed me...
...

Let me start by saying that this was the first lawn mower I owned after buying my dream house with a fenced yard at a corner lot. As you can imagine I have a LARGE yard to mow. At first, this machine surprised my guy who used to cut the grass professionally as it easily mowed tall grass and weeds. I had been pleased until now it started tripping my circuit breaker over and over again! Mind you, I performed all the necessary maintenance and yet this THING DIED on me in the middle of cutting my yard! What an embarassment! It took me the whole day to cut my lawn rather than 3-4hours it normally took me over the past couple of years and cost repair estimate was close to the amount to purchase a another lawn mower! I am very angry that I really didn't get my money's worth. needless to say I am not impressed by Craftsman or Sears products. No redemption here! I will be looking elsewhere and I suggest you do the SAME!!!!!!!
...

I had used a gas mower all while growing up, but as a homeowner myself, I decided I want to try and get away from using a gas mower at my own home. I picked this up and the first thing you notice is that there is hardly any assembly involved. Just adjust the handle and you're set. If you have a larger backyard like me you will need a very long extension cord. The thing I love most about this mower is that you don't have to worry as much about maintenance with this mower as opposed to a gas mower. That being said, it does take longer to mow the yard, and as other reviews have said, you do have to do it more often. Also occasionally the cord can be a hassle. But overall, a good mower.

I have had this mower for 7 years and it has worked very well for me. I have nothing but praise for this model. I have not done any maintenance whatsoever, I keep it in the garage and plug it in whenever I need it. No problems, starts right up.

However, if you are looking for an electric mower, you need to make sure that you can deal with the drawbacks of owning one.

Many who are giving it low marks would give the same low marks to any electric mower. I will not take away any stars from this because of the fact it is an electric mower. Electric mowers have inherent advantages; lighter weight; maintenance free; lower overall cost, long-term; quietness; and a few others I can't seem to think of right now. Drawbacks for electric mowers include having to deal with the cord; higher initial cost (in some cases, especially if you dont already own a long cord); length of time to mow a lawn; difficulty in thick/long grass.

Overall, I like this mower and it doesn an excellent job. However,...
...

In 7 years I've bought a new blade for it once. Blades run about $14. I sometimes run over chestnuts, small rocks and small sticks so it has had a workout over the years. If the lawn becomes uneven, buy a new blade or sharpen the one you have. this mower isn't meant for over 8" grass. It will go thru it but it will just struggle and it will take longer. Having the mulcher feature is a necessity for not having to bag grass all summer and the mower is light weight without the bag in back.

I have no complaints. If you are Tim the Toolman Taylor and want extreme power go for a big gas mower. But if you want a clean efficient mower that will do the job get this one. My next mower I'd like a battery charged one so to not deal with the cord but they are pricey. The cord isn't bad, just would be easier without it.
...

I have owned this mower for a little over a year now and have regretted buying it since day one. I don't care how sharp you get the blade, this mower has no power and does not cut your lawn, it tears it. Every time I mow the lawn it looks like someone cut the lawn with a dull pair of hand shears. It is uneven and patchy. To add insult to injury it takes 2 to 3 times longer to mow than with a gas mower because you cant mow more than a 6 to 8 inch swatch without the risk of bringing the blade to a grinding halt.. I won't even get into the inconvenience of avoiding the electric cord while mowing although I doubt it has enough power to actually cut the cord. Total waste of $270. I am not going through another season with this mower. I gave my old gas mower away when I bought this one. It is really going to hurt when I have spend more money on a new gas mower.
...

I am a 60+ woman who cuts her own lawn. This a great mower & mulcher. I no longer have to fertilize my lawn because of the mulching that is done each time I cut the grass. This is not only beneficial for me but cuts down on the grass clippings that go into the garbage for pickup. This machine requires NO outside maintenace--that is, oil change, tune up, etc. All I do is hose it down after each cutting and once a year sharpen the blades. All instructions come with the purchase. The only drawback might be the electric cord. Some people find this a nuisance. I don't because the benefits outweight this little annoyance. It just takes getting use to using a electric machine instead of gas or battery operated.
...

After 10 years of gas-powered mowing, I made the 'green' move to corded electric with this model. Now I wish I had done so much sooner: this has a much easier start-up, storage, no hassles with operation, cutting power or clean-up. As noted elsewhere, keep the blade clean and sharp, go slower than you're used to (with gas mowers), mow perpendicular and be aware of where your cord is unwinding. The one-hand height adjustment works fine. The Low handle angle does make it hard on taller operators to push comfortably, looks like it was designed to be pushed by someone 5 feet 4 inches tall (& possiby tested overseas?). I'm 5'10" and no problems so far. My yard is an end-unit town house, so a larger property may require different a mower rig. Before I bought this model, I test drove my neighbor's mower (with like features but heavier) and I'm very satisfied with my selection.
...

Went to Home Depot first looking for electric mowers and found 3 with the cheapest being $330!! Saw this one at Sears, rewiewed it online at the store and took it home for $10 cheaper than listed on here. WORKS GREAT!!! I had some thick grass for it on it's first run and it powered right on through! While it would be nice if the handle bar was adjustable, that wasn't enough to give anything less than 5 stars!...

This mower was designed for someone who is 5'5 or shorter. I'm 5'11" and the handlebar is way too short for me. It wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have to mow that much, but now that I have a larger yard than before I am forced to sell it because my back just can't take being hunched over for an hour. Other than the height issue it is a great mower....
