Craftsman 12 amp 12-1/2" Bench Planer (21758) —
I?ve had this planer for about a month and I had intended the planer to be temporary until I could afford something like the Dewalt 735 planer. However, the results from this planer were so good that I think I?ll keep it. All that had to be done to get it working is to assemble the crank and install the dust chute. The cut quality is superb! Very smooth finish and hardly noticeable snipe. So far I?ve planed pine, red oak, and walnut with fantastic results. This is probably the best money I?ve spent so far since I only paid around $170 on sale and with Craftsman Club savings. The only thing that was annoying about it is the dust chute cannot readily attach to the shop vac or standard dust collector attachments due to irregular size chute. This was minor since I easily coupled the dust chute to my dust collector using a 2? rubber transition coupling found in the plumbing section.Craftsman 12 amp 12-1/2" Bench Planer (21758)
