Nice product but BEWARE

This edger works fine-easy to use with the two-handed handle, BUT finding replacement parts is TERRIBLE! It is not carried at the store-although they have them on clearance there for less than half the price on sears.com. I also had an extremely hard time getting the nut loose to even change the blade.... read full review »

Next Time

Had a Black and Decker edger for years. Bought a Craftsman for $30.00 more for QUALITY but was disappointed. Handle is flimsy/wobbly feeling. Front wheel is flimsy and probably will not last. Blade looks thin and not durable compared to B+D. B+D was only 11 Amp but I saw no power difference. B+D also... read full review »

First time buyer, and user.  Product was very easy to use.  Easy depth adjustment, and removable blade guard for easy clean up. 12 amp motor is very powerful, yet quite. Bottom guide keeps you on track for straight cuts, and no bent blades.

Not Sears quality

Very difficult to get blades. Blades way over priced. Not good Sears Quality. Difficult and dangerous to change blades. Front wheel will go first. Bolts holding inner plates by blade will wobble out. Unit failed in two years by the main gear that works off the motor becoming worn beyond use.

Edger

This product edges a nice clean cut and you can't beat the price.

79654 Electric Edger

Puchased this as a replacement for a Craftsman Edger that was ancient to say the least. Ease of access to the blade for cleaning and replacement is much improved. My old one had dynamic blade braking action which I really miss. The new blades must not be tempered as they wear out much faster than the ones for the old edger that I replaced. Would have kept the old one except that a key plastic part broke off (the Edge Guide) and epoxy will not hold. I really miss the old one.

Great Edger

I have had this edger for a couple of years now and it is great. My yard looks the best in the neighborhood.

Sears Edger

Does a terrible job. Blade is too short. Have to go over edge many times to get a clean cut.

Craftsman Electric Edger

I just purchased & used this edger for the first time today. It works reasonably well and seems to be fairly priced. I gave this item a 4 because of the somewhat flimsy handle, not your typical Craftsman quality here. The replacement blades in my opinion are a little pricy, but overall, this is a fairly good product.

great product

This edger is a great value! It's well worth the price!

Poor Design and quality of 5 year old product

Purchased 5 years ago and never liked the 3 blade design due to clogging up. Switch on left side and I'm right handed. Top of housing broke off from force of grass hitting it. Loose swivel joint made it uncomfortable to handle. Blade wore out too soon and I don't have a lot of edging.

Power Power Power

I was unsure if an electric edger would have the power needed to cut through the zoyza grass that had taken over three feet of the entire length of my driveway. When I finished I had long sections of sod that my neighbor was able to use on a section of his lawn that wouldn't grow grass. This edger has power to spare and is easy to use on lots that you can get around with a long extention cord.

Good for the money

This is a good working edger. The only problem that I have is that you cannot find replacement blades at the local Sears store. I have to order them. The stores stock all types of lawnmower blades, but no edger blades. I found this really irritating!!

buying the 2nd one

We recieved this edger over ten years ago as a gift and I am going to buy another for Father's day for my husband. The other one would still work but was a victim of an accident. I cannot wait to see the look on his face next Sunday morning!

parts availability

I have an older model edger (appoximately 5 years) and I have experienced difficulty finding replacement blades in stock at our local Sears store.
