About 4 years ago, we bought this model shop vac for garage/outside use. We use it exclusively for anything from simply blowing leaves out of the garage, to vaccuming the cars out. My Father uses it to blow the water off his 05 Harley after a wash. 2 years ago, we bought a split level home and it needed some TLC. We completely gutted the place down to the concrete slab and remodeled it. The vaccum saw alot of heavy and grungy use and it never missed a beat. This vaccum overall has been an excellent tool. It has never let us down and has been very cost effective. I don't know how we lived without... review »

I like to thoroughly research an item before I buy it. I read many reviews and this wet/dry vacuum was highly recommended. You will not be disappointed. I purchased the vac to do a bathroom flooring project that involved grinding and cutting into concrete. Two words describe the project: obscenely dusty. Two words describe the performance of the Craftsman vac: no problem. I actually used it to remove dust from the air while I was working in the bathroom! The vac uses a filter (a HEPA model is available) and although it is not referenced online or in the manual, the hose connection inside the... review »

I bought this for my garage / shop and thought it would never get used for much more than sawdust or general dirt. Then my water heater flooded my basement while I was away. I was able to get the water shut off and replace the water heater, but I wasn't sure if the vac would be able to help get the basement emptied out. I was concerned that it would not be able to handle that amount of water and even if it could, that it would take way too long. It not handled the water, it went right through it. I was done clearing water as deep as 3 inches in some areas within an hour. I must have filled it... review »

This is one hungry vac. I do woodworking and it picks up the piles from dust to chips. The hook on the hose prevents the hose from pulling out of the vac while you drag it around the shop. It's too bad that I waited so long to upgrade from the 2 gallon vac. There are quite a few attachments that make a lot of jobs so much easier. I definitely recommend this vac.

An excellent product, powerful, lightweight, easy to clean. The blower also works well for most jobs. Accessories and parts readily available at Sears, good warranty; what more could you ask for? A little bulky so I also have a smaller 5 gallon vac., but of course it has a lot less power. All in all this thing really sucks (which is a good thing for a shop vac). (And no I don't work for Sears).

This is the best vac I have ever used. I have put this thing through ringer and it still eats anything I put it near. I attach this to my table saw, planer and jointer when woodworking in the shop. I used it non stop for an hour and a half when my basement flooded, I have vacuumed up large quantities of nails, sawdust, sheet rock and anything else under the sun. BUY THIS VAC!!

I have recently renovated my foreclosure and needed a shop vac to clean up after all of the destruction. Needless to say, this vac performed beautifully. Not only does it tackle saw dust and sheet rock debris with ease, it is also excellent for just regular vacuum jobs around the house. I highly would recommend this shop vac to anyone.

I just purchased this 12 gallon wet/dry vac and absolutely love it. I was using my dad's 15+ year old Sears 16 gallon vac and wanted an upgrade. This model is much quieter than the older model I had and I love being able to connect all of my accessories right on the vac. The positive hose lock is a huge advantage because now you won't have to worry about pulling the hose out when the container is full. I also looked at the 9 gallon but I didn't want the shorter 10 foot power cord. You will be very happy with this model.

Vacuum is powerful and easy to use - This is a good choice however, I think that the accessory attachments should be included instead of having to purchase additionally. Other than that, I would recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for medium sized wet/dry vac with good suction power.

I bought this Wet/Dry Vac for Christmas. It really came in handy when we had the recent Noreaster. We never had water in our basement, but due to the heavy rains, my basement had about 3 inches of water. I used this product and I was amazed at the powerful suction of this vac. My basement was dry in no time, and I was free to go on with my day. The Vac moved and glided easily and handled the water like a more expensive product. I highly recommend this Vac for its price and efficiency. It's a powerful product, and you won't be sorry you bought it.

I bought this about a month ago so it isn't "seasoned" yet. I've used it to vacuum my two workshops and it does a good job. When I bought it, I asked if there was an extension hose and they sold me the one in the store which was 10' and cost $40. After I got home, I got on line and found that they sell a 20' hose for $25 (available only on line), so I returned the $40 hose (which was their professional line) and ordered the 20' hose. It is made of the same stuff as the one that comes with it.

It is relatively quiet and powerful. I wish I would have had it several months ago when one workshop...

This Craftsman 5hp wet/dry vac was a Christmas gift 4yrs. ago from my father-in-law. At the time I thought, cool. Well now I detail vehicles as a side job with my brothers company and I take this along. It works great! And it's stronger than my brothers lesser named 6hp wet/dry!

I purchased this product about a month ago along with the car kit, a fine dust filter (17907) replacement, and a package of bags. I have used it several times, mostly to vacuum the ashes from my Big Green Egg, but I have vacuumed the car as well and it works fantastic. Highly recommended.
