Craftsman 12 in. Bar Clamp Reviews

I've used other compression bar clamps along this style in my woodworking projects, long before sears came out with theirs. What I discovered in these Craftsman 6", 12" and 18" bar clamps are greater strength, durability, flexibility and features. These clamps are rock solid and are my go-to holders for over 90% of my woodworking projects. They are so versatile, I also use them for many other clamping needs (drilling, sanding, routing, cutting, fabrication, etc.). They are able to apply the extra clamping force when needed and are well made for years of service in my shop.

I also have stronger...

I have owned these clamps for about 6 months now, and they seem to hold up pretty well.

I like how flexible the clamp is with the ability to use it as a spreader or a normal clamp.

This is a very handy clamp. I have several different styles and sizes but the one handed operation is my favorite by far. This one is limited by its size but that is why you need to have several different sizes.

12 inch Bar Clamp

I have used many different bar clamps for various reasons and 95% of them do not hold at all or slip once there on. This clamp could hold up anything it was designed for. It's a smaller clamp and not designed for large jobs, but I have already ordered 2 in each of the other sizes for some of the larger jobs that I have planned.

12 inch Clamp

I bought the clamp while it was on sale and now I find I use it almost every time I'm in the shop. I am currently rebuilding a camper and some of the places I need to clamp is in hard to reach places. In some cases you have to hold with one hand and clamp with the other. With the Craftsman Bar Clamp this is alot easy to do than with a lot of other clamps. There is no slipping and with one hand you can tighten the clamp with ease. I give the clamp a thumbs up, if fact I am planning on purchasing more.

Great Product

I bought 4 of these to install some kitchen cabinets and they worked great. No marring. I used a coupon and a gift card to get these clamps so that was a good deal. They held the cabinets well. I was afraid they would slip when I first bought them because the pads looked smooth but they didn't slip or mar the cabinets. I used to buy stuff like clamps at Harbor Freight (who can mess up clamps) but I'm buying more Craftsman stuff now.

Best Quick Clamps Around

I've been using various sizes of these clamps for a couple of years now and they have consistently outperformed my standard Irwin clamps. There are stronger Irwin's out there but the Craftsman clamps are reasonably parallel unlike the Irwin's. Jorgensen's and similar designs. This makes them so much easier and more accurate to use during glue up. They are as close as you can get to a true parallel clamp that you can operate with one hand. I almost bought some of the Bessey quick clamps but they look and feel so cheap. The Craftsman's are very substantial and stand up to repeated use. The two lever... read full review »

Craftsman 12 in. Bar Clamp

I purchased 2 Craftsman 12 in. Bar Clamps to hold 2 X 6 X 7' boards to 4 x 4 wood posts. It was very easy to set the clamp and release it once the board was fastened to the post. I wasn't sure the clamps would be strong enough based on their size and makeup, but they handled the job with ease. I would recommend these clamps for projects that need a sizable opening and is strong enough to handle large cuts of wood.

Great tool

Agree with the other review. These are really solid. I also started with 1, got a second, and am now buying my 3rd and 4th for bigger projects. They grip solid and are superior to most of the competing brands out there. These are made in Europe and the quality shows.

Like a third hand

I was surprised at the ease, this is like having a third hand for the odd job. I started with 1 clamp, I know own 4. I used this in holding 2x4s to 4x4s whileleveling and in the construction of my deck. I have used when building a room addition on our homw, I use when working on the car and I keep finding more uses. This is one of Craftsmens BEST. It's strong and ultra easy to use LOVE IT!!!!
