“Benchtop Planer”

Craftsman 12 in. Planer, Bench Top — 

I purchased the planer on sale at $189.00. Within 10 minutes I had it out of the box and running. I planed a 1" thick board and the finish was amazing, no scalloping at all. The only thing I did not like was the board would hang and leave black marks from the roller. I know I may have been trying to take too much off but I can't help but feel that the friction that causes the black marks could wear down the roller quickly. Since I am a casual woodworker (Thats why I buy Craftsman) I would buy this over the $400+ Dewalt any day or the $280 Rigid anyday.
