I bought this to replace a different pump I gave my son before he left on a trip. This pump works great. I hook it up, it reads the existing pressure. I hit preset and it starts to the 30 psi preset value; I press the plus button to increase it to 32 and it runs to 32 psi and shuts off. It does exactly... review »

I bought this for a birthday, and tried it out before giving it as a gift to make sure it worked. The first time it vibrated like crazy and then shut off. Would not start again. I checked my fuses, and interior lights fuse was blown. Great, I replaced the fuse, and tried using the compressor again, but... review »

I liked the features BUT, over the last year, I only used the pump about five times to adjust the tire pressure for my car. Not really a heavy duty job, but the pump vibrates so much that during the fifth use, it wore a hole in the hose where the hose feeds through the plastic housing. I tried to patch it to no avail. I don't see a way to replace the hose, so in to the trash it goes.

I tried to activiate the batteries in the digital pressure gauge. A plastic tab is between a battery and the circuit board. The tab would not pull out, so I tried to remove the battery cover on the back of the gauge. The phillips screw came out easily, but the cover would not move. I was finally ably to pry the cover off, only to discover that it had, apparently, been GLUED ON.

I needed this to inflate my tires on my might mac leaf blower. It works but I was concerned that the pressure gauge is very difficult to remove even with the lock on unfasten and the push up direction shows the release point. I like the compact size, the automatic pressure reader with stop point, the sears brand and ease of picking up at the nearby store, and the easy to follow directions. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

I aired up my lawn mower tires, truck tires, and even the occassional blow up kids toy, but when I tried to air up my sons fort basketball, the unit began smoking, and stopped working. It was only operating for 5 seconds or less. Glad I paaid half price at a sale.

I do not recommend the Craftsman #15053 12-volt tire compressor/inflator.  Mine quit working after owning it for a few years, even though I rarely use it for tires.  It is noisy and vibrates excessively.  It inflates tires very slowly, even to increase the tire pressure by 2 or 3 pounds.  The valve attachment to the tire is hard to operate.  The digital pressure readout is very inaccurate, and the general operation of the unit is cumbersome.

When it quit a few days ago, I purchased a Slime Heavy Duty 12-volt inflator to replace it.  The Slime unit is much easier to handle, quieter, and increases...

I loved this product from the moment I laid my eyes on it. Who doesn't want to pay those higher and higher fees being scalped out of you by the gas stations who also make a killing on gas... but this time, it's for air of all things... HEY, isn't air free??? Anyway, the tool works great if you don't overexert it. Like the sticker says, wait at least 10 mins. between each 10 mins. of usage. The darn thing does have a nervous tick every now and then. I found some problems with the older units' digital displays refusing to reset to zero. I've had problems with units both old and new having the piston... review »

This compressor actually performs as promised and the price beats most of the competition. The removable electronic gauge is very convenient and accurate (checked against several other gauges). The auto-stop feature is also very convenient, although the over-pressure in the hose while the compressor is pumping requires that the pressure setpoint be set a few psi higher than the desired pressure. Accurate readings can only be taken with the compressor switched off. But it only takes 2 or 3 tries to figure out what the correct setpoint for your tires will be, and the compressor rememebers the last... review »

It took 30 minutes to inflate ONE SUV tire, and five minutes of that time was spent trying to get the air chuck locking lever to close around the valve stem. What a pain, literally. I had to keep manipulating the depth of the air chuck on the valve stem in order to finally get the locking lever closed (with GREAT difficulty). I also tried it on a bicycle tire valve stem, and the valve stems on the tires of a portable generator; all with the same poor results trying to get it attached. Sure, this thing is loaded with features, automatic shut-off with a set-pounds feature, detachable digital... review »

Never had an inflator before and cant see how I got by without one before. It`s easy to use. I double checked the pressure with 2 regular gauges after I used it the first time and all four tires were perfect. The auto shut off is nice but I had to set it one lb higher to stop where I wanted it. No biggy. I will get my sister one. She is in Chicago and it is always hard to find good places to check your tires. She cant trust stations to do it right. Her last visit to see me all 4 tires were low and she just had them checked for the trip. Trust your own eyes and use this inflator. Have your car running... review »

I have a version of this product I got at Costco several years ago and I've used it over and over. It continues to work well. It is the only one I've seen or could find that will automatically shut off when the pressure you set has been reached--a very valuable feature for a pump that takes a while to inflate a low tire. It's faster than any other small compressor I've used and has stood up very well over the years in spite of the fact that it's been used largely in dusty environments. Objections to the fact that the clip is difficult to attach to some tire valves are valid but I have had very... review »

As with other reviewers I liked the metal chuck, and was annoyed I could not get it to close on the valve. I want my daughter to have this at school, and the chuck is a negative. But it added 2 pounds of pessure very quickly, without the chuck closed! So this is not really a problem. The digital gauge is a plus (although I am never comfortable that the gauges on the pumps are accurate). Overall for a 12 volt, pretty good. I also bought the 120 volt inflator for use at home. Consistently, the chuck also did not fit well (although better), but it is solid and fills quickly.

I've had this inflator for 1 year. I keep it in my trunk. It is handy for emergencies. I had a flat tire, and was able to get it inflated enough to get to the tire store and get the tire fixed. It is also handy to check the inflation on the tires and add air when I want and not, and not when I'm at the gas station (if you can even find air at the gas station any more.) It is not fast like compressed air, so it can take a a few minutes to inflate the tire as needed. It seems light weight and flimsy, but it works.
