Great for bikes

We just bought this so that we could use it for our bikes. We just started biking again and are in our 50's and late 60's. Didn't want to have to pump up our tires manually. Got a small adapter for the road bike from our local bike shop. This has worked great. We use it every couple of days to keep the... read full review »

Most Helpful Critical Review

I bought this to inflate bicycle tires. For that it worked really well. When my car tire went flat ( I mean all the way flat), I used this to pump it up and it burned up the motor. I owned it for about 4 years before it burned up. Probably would have lasted longer had I not pumped up the car tire. For...

Not durable

When I think Craftsman, I think of longevity, quality and value. I have used this product for a few years to inflate auto tires exclusively. It has been seldom used over the years since purchased. Today, while wrapping the cord to place the unit back into the box the metal pin and spring in the 12 volt plug fell out. While the plug could be opened for repair, there was no way the metal pin could be reattached to the electrical connector ring. I would consider this product poorly made, possibly even defective but way past the warranty period.

Although not super expensive ($24.99), I would expect...

Do Not Buy It

Was good while it worked - less than a year. Do not recommend.

Light duty

Don't waste your money on this air compressor. We used this one to occasionally air up bicycle and car tires and it didn't last a year.

DO NOT BUY

After a year of light duty use keeping two cars' tires inflated, compressor quit working. It quit while inflating a 60 psi spare tire. Don't know if it was the pressure or the duration that killed it, but both were within specified range. Junk.

Not Dependable

We have a Craftsman 250 Model No. 9 15052 Air Compressor. After a year of light car tire use it started smoking and quit. I took it apart and the moror was fine but the compressor was not. Do not recommend you waste your money.

My Review

Plain and simple. I have only used it maybe 5 times in the past year. Went to plug it in and its not working anymore. All I hear is a whine.

Everyone should carry this in their cars!

This compressor is the "little train that could." :) This is a vital piece of equipment to carry in your car. If you're on the road or away from home and you have a flat tire (which happens a lot today), this little compressor is the perfect solution. It takes up almost no room. With a little time, it'll get you rolling again - important, especially if you don't have access to a phone/cell phone.

Poor performance and zero reliability

This product is made for small items, not heavy duty items as the package suggests. My children's bikes, soccer ball, basketball, etc. - Do not attempt to inflate any vehicle tires over 14" as this product will over heat after approximately 10 minutes, which they tell you not to use it for any longer than that, but regardless this product does not meet the Craftsman nameplate that other products by the same have maintained. We initially thought that the product was faulty, so I brought it back to Sears for an exchange and then I got the other one and attempted to inflate my wife's 16" tire which... read full review »

Defective pump

The first time I used the pump, the metal chuck on it clamped on to the tire rubber tip so hard it would not come off after I finished pumping the tire. Four people tried for 2 days to get it off the tire unsuccessfully and we finally had to cut the hose to get it detached from the tire. Once we did, the clamp fell off. Needless to say, I think this item should be taken off the shelves and never sold to the public again. It caused my family undue stress unable to use our car for 2 days.
