i purchased this item do to the description of its powerful attributes and portablility. However, once it arrived - I followed the instructions and the digital display came on...but, NOTHING else did. I tried several troubleshooting options before returning it to the store.

This item worked great...while it worked! It worked fine on my bicycle tires on day, the next day on a different bike, it didn't work. I had it for about 4 months.

This compressor is the best little 12V inflator I have ever had or seen. Most of them take forever to inflate a tire. I have slow leaks in my tires and I top up the air quite often. This machine only takes minutes for all four tires. There are two things I don't like:

1. There is no storage bag for it. I keep it in my trunk and it flies around.

2. The gauge is a few pounds off so I have to use a real tire gauge to check the air.

I have purchased 2 of these air compressors and both stopped working for completely different reasons. The first one would leak air causing the tire would go flat instead of airing up and the digital gauge stopped working on my second one. Both units were also very difficult to remove from the valve stem after I finished airing up a tire. I have since purchased a $10 no name portable air compressor and it doesn't suffer from any of these problems....

Picked this up today so that I could fill my mini-van's flat tire. On the side of the road, plugged it into my lighter socket and attached it to my tire's valve stem. Waited a few minutes and I was able to get my car home without having to have it towed. Great deal for the money.

Definitely do not buy this item. I have not even had it a year and it won't keep a charge. It is left plugged in to charge for the time the instructions say, and will only stay on for a couple of minutes. I tried taking it back to Sears and they won't refund my money or even give me a new one. What a scam!@!

After stopping at at least 5 different gas stations on New Years only to find that their air pumps were broken or out of service, I thought it was high time to purchase a portable inflator. Sears had this one on sale recently so I pulled the trigger. I've only used it once so I can't comment on reliability but it did the job nicely the first time out of the box. Now it lives in the car and hopefully works the next time its needed. The only con is I couldn't remove the removable tire gauge...I tried but feared breaking it if I tried any harder. No worries since I have a plethora of other gauges....

Saw exact same device, different colors, brand Bon-Aire. $20 cheaper with Sears! Works well, simple to use. Only complaint is that to be so compact, different pieces fit into little nooks, so to undo and redo takes extra few seconds....

I bouught this for emergency use to be kept in the trunk of my car. When I needed to inflate a tire, it stopped working after a few minutes. Would NOT recommend this product.

This unit was on sale for $25 and I bought it as the previous compressor I had was 9 years old and I thought it would be a good idea to replace it just in case it broke down. I stored it in the car and did not need it for a year or so. One day I got a flat and it would not work as the cigarette lighter plug was broken. The previous compressor was stored in my trunk for 9 year and never got damaged as the plug was built of a durable material. This product is not cheap to buy but the material it is made of is. I had to call my wife to bring my old 9 year compressor to get me off the side of the road!

The ONLY 12 V Air Compressor in the market with AUTO shut off at set PSI for the price - while on SALE - is really a good catch ona foggy day ! It has wire and pressure hose storage so nothing is hanging around while being stored in the car.

The pros that I liked was that it was small and portable to carry in the vehicle. The price was good as well.

I only used this pump 5 times in a year. and it completely stopped working after try to inflate by daughters soccer ball, and bike tire!!! I examined it throughly and there was no damage to the main unit. I tried plugging it again and it did not work at all. I went back to Sears and explained to them with my original receipt in hand that the unit only worked 5 times. The sales personal at Sears were rude and told me to buy another one!! I asked them since it's a Craftsman name does it have a lifetime replacement? They said "No", and that only applies to tools, but you need your orginal receipt, for all craftmans tools! I guess this air unit is cheap, and you get what you pay for! Stay away from it, and maybe spend money on something better!!!

I really like it.It has a strong air compressor.Actually, it is portable, so i can put it in the trunk of my car.It works perfectly for me. I really recommend it for my friend. Craftsman has a good product, i a, really happy when buying this item. Great!

I have had this pump for 6 months. I use it about once a week. It worked real good until the power switch broke today. Now it is useless. Hopefully I can get it replaced since it has a 2 year warranty. Stop using cheap china switches on your products. They are not reliable!!

Originally, I bought this with the intention of using it as an all purpose air inflator. I bought a 12 v to 120 v adapter so I could plug it into the wall and use it, but unfortunately, this device does not work with an adapter in a wall outlet. So you can only use this if your car is very close by. While that's frustrating, it does say in the instructions that the device will only work with a 12v power supply. Still, I don't know why an adapter wouldn't work with it (I tested the adapter and outlet and they are both functional).

That said, it's a great device to put into your trunk or keep in your garage to check tire pressure. The preset feature is excellent and I sprung for the one with the digital gauge because of that feature. Perfect for taking on road trips, and seems to be a very high quality device.

My only complaints are:

- sometimes the 12v power supply comes apart easily, seems it was hastily designed

- without using one of the adapters - meaning, using it to inflate...

I bought this compressor, used it to check/inflate my tires once, and it died. It has gibberish on the digital readout and won't function at all. Not impressed at all with this "heavy duty" 12-volt compressor.

I do not recommend the Craftsman #15053 12-volt tire compressor/inflator. Mine quit working after owning it for a few years, even though I rarely use it for tires. It is noisy and vibrates excessively. It inflates tires very slowly, even to increase the tire pressure by 2 or 3 pounds. The valve attachment to the tire is hard to operate. The digital pressure readout is very inaccurate, and the general operation of the unit is cumbersome.

When it quit a few days ago, I purchased a Slime Heavy Duty 12-volt inflator to replace it. The Slime unit is much easier to handle, quieter, and increases the tire pressure much faster than the Craftsman unit.
