Firstly this set is okay for sockets assortment, but there are flaws with this set.the upper door came open many times due to the catch being not strong enough so tools just fell into lower section as I opened it. then you ave to take your time to organize them and that takes your time. Bought this set maybe 2 weeks ago during my corvette auto transmission rebuild. It handled bolts from my convertible underbody brace, to COMPELTE exhaust system, and transmission removal. The sockets are very easy to read even under the car. Combined with my new creeper, I am steadily becoming a better mechanic. My only complaint is I would prefer some more deep-well six-point sockets. I had to go out and buy a deep-well 3/8 drive socket and that is my only complaint.
Otherwise a great home mechanic set. For only $90 with Craftsman Club discount, what a deal! And the ratchets are nice and solid,...

This a great tool set. It has all the sockets & rachets you would need for any home repair project. Really like the easy to read sockets, I'm an older guy & its good not to need my glasses to read the sockets. I wanted this set for a while & when it was on sale for $88.00 I had to buy it. The only drawback to these large tool sets is they have a lot of "inch" sockets. I mostly work on cars & every thing is metric after 1985 or so. But all in all a great tool set.
I am a service tech for a commercial machinery co I service all type of equipment from pressers to boilers to chillers and to pumps. This is one on the first tools of my truck. I have add a few thing like sockets up to 1 1/4 puller and snap-ring pliers.But if one of my go to kits.
this is a great kit for the starting mechanic or something for anyhone to carry around in ther vehicle. the kit comes with all your most common tools, none, of the stuff you'll never use, like some kits, the tools fit well and stay in place in the case, and the large easy read numbers on the sockets are great. theres even some excess room in the case for a few more necessary tools. you definetly get your bang for the buck with this kit, and the fact that there craftsman, free replacement, highest quality tools, makes this the perfect kit for anyone.
i was not a big believer in the "easy to read" concept before this purchase, but as usual crafstman does not let me down! This is a great base set for your garage,has just enough sizes and deep well for any normal project, the only problem you will have is your freinds bringing their projects over to your garage! the way these are done i haven't had any "rub-off" of the sizes in 2 years of use.
Every time my brothers, my friends and my brother's friends come over for "Garage Time", I find some excuse to use my new Lazer Etched Easy to Read Mechanic's tool set. Let's face it, We're all getting a little older and eyesight is fading. But that's no excuse for not creeping underneath or climbing in the cavernous hoods of our prized rides just because we can't see the stamping on a socket. These sockets are so easy to read whether you're at the bench or hip deep under a hood! All I hear at the end of the day is "Man, I gotta get me a set of those babies". This kit is great. It really has everything you need. I've rebuilt many motors with this tool kit. One word of advice, don't use the sockets to remove heads of motors, the sockets have a tendency to break from the force that's needed to remove the head bolts. Also a breaker bar would be nice. Other than that a wonderful tool kit. Would highly recommend this kit for beginners to commercial users. Even though I cracked 2 sockets removing a head on a motor, all I lost in the end was the time it took me to go to sears to have them replace it for free.
This tool set is all around a great set. The only thing I have against this set is that I wish it had more six point sockets. The case makes it easy to store in my pickup's toolbox and easy to carry around to different projects.
