I have two LT1000 tractors with snow plow, wheel weights, and chains. The first two years both plows worked great. The third season is when the problems will start. The lift will wear out. Other than that keep it lubed and you won't have problems tilting or lifting it but it will not lift very high. If it is tilted to the left or right it will drag the ground even when lifted. It is an easy fix if you have a welder and a good set of drill bits to fill in then re drill the holes. My scraper blade has to be replaced about every five years due to heavy use. I plow six driveways, the sidewalk for the entire neighborhood, plus the street, and a lot of dirt and rock in the summer. The lift could use a good re-design but over all they can handle a lot of abuse for a long time with proper maintenance. Up to 8" can be plowed with ease but you must remove the mower deck (to clear the chains), add the wheel weights and chains if you are plowing more than an inch or you will get stuck guaranteed. Add the chains and wheel weights and you can plow just about anything with ease.
