I have read all 50 reviews to date, agree with most, my experience has been good, I am on second blade, having sold first one with 12HP Sears Lawn Tractor after 10 years. My tractor now is 17HP Poulan(from Sears)for 11 years, still a little short on power. Plowed a whole lot of snow with most successes,... review »

I just bought this snow blade along with anew tractor. I wanted to set everything up for the winter, long story short, I opened the box and this item is completely disassembled. There are tons of bolts and the instructions are not the best. It took me 3 hours to assemble. I am pretty handy, and I would... review »

I purchased this item being a little skeptical of the durability of the blade to perform on a 975ft gravel driveway. More scary was the endurance of my 19HP LT1000 which is 8 years old. I expected both to shatter to pieces. The first snow storm of the year hit the Hudson Valley with about 10-12 inches. I was absolutely impressed with both the blade and my tractor. Once I got going I glided. You will need to ensure that you make rounds every 3 inches of snow. So with heavy snow you will be out there every hour or so to make a pass. But I have to tell you I had fun. Definitely you will need both... review »

This is my second winter of using this snow blade and I absolutely love it! It is worth every penny I paid for it!! I use this blade with a 4500 Series tractor with a B&S 24 HP V-Twin motor and I have pushed all kinds of snow up to 11" deep and it has not failed me yet. It works as well today as the day I put it together. A great investment!!

Well I just wanted readers to know, this blade will push tons of snow... I have used it to do over 54 driveways of all sizes and finishes so far this season and it has done better than expected. I have done driveways that had old frozen snow and I am talking with 16" to 20" inch drifts and no place to stack it. Removed 2" inch thick ice slabs with some effort from cars driving over the snow and compacting it. Plowed up 45% degree inclines too. I have re-stacked frozen snow piles 4' to 5' feet high made by the city plows... It took some time, but moved big piles... No, I don't work for Sears........ review »

I agree with the reviews that discuss that the assembly instructions could be improved; however, I took my time and was able to get it figured out and assembled within three hours time (after a couple of moves that I had to undo and redo). In particular, it was difficult to get the blade pivot shaft assembled and operating properly but once that was done, things went smoothly. I use the blade with a 42" Craftsman Professional Garden Tractor and purchased wheel weights (Sears #2445) and tire chains. I have not had to use the tire chains and plan to take them back -- the tractor with the wheel weights... review »

I got it when we moved into our new house, the first winter, I thought we had wasted our money, but the next 2 years, it has been well worth the investment. We live in western PA and we have gotten some major snows the last 2 years. I tried it with out the chains and weights and it did ok, but took really long to scrap our drive. After purchasing the weights and chains and yes I did put them on, I didn't use the thinking, that it is the thought that counts, lol. and it cut the job in half. I am not a mechanic, so it took me a little while to put it together, there was only one problem, and s others... review »

I installed it using the pictures in the instructions. It only gets 4 stars because the spring on the tilt lever had to be bent so it would stay in place. It popped off when I was testing the blade on 2 inches of snow. When lubricating the moveable parts I used spray on Lithium grease instead of the WD-40 they sent with it. It holds up better in the wet conditions and stays on longer. Learning how to use the blade was fairly easy. I have a long down hill dirt driveaway. I plowed straight down the center of the driveway on the first pass. Then pushed the remaining snow to the sides of the driveway... review »

I just purchased the 14" blade, tire chains, and weighs. It took me and my 3 yr old son about 3 hrs from start to finish to put everything together. The directions are very easy as long as you read and not just look at pictures. The first time I plowed It was rough going( chains and weights were back ordered). After I picked the chains and installed them it was like night and day. I had no problem pushing snow down a 200 ft driveway. Everything functioned well after a little adjusting on the release lever. I feel that you would not need the weights as I'm going to return mine. If you were going... review »

Assembly - I read many reviews before I bought this blade. Most mentioned how hard it was too assemble. DON'T BE AFRAID! I only got hung up once on the directions and still got the thing mounted on my tractor in about 2 hours. Function - The blade works pretty well. The only issue is getting enough weight on the tractor. Even with the wheel weights and tire chains, I have trouble pushing snow any deeper than 8-10". If the blade is angled, the front of the tractor gets pushed sideways instead of pushing straight forward in deep snow. Value - I picked up the blade, chains, and weights all on sale.... review »

This blade has earned its keep for sure! So far this year we have had record snowfalls - include 23" in a 24 hour period. This blade attachment has saved our backs and we have been amazed by its performance! Of course it has limitations...like don't expect it to plow straight through 23" of snow - but once you've made one pass, it sails through the snow & pushes it up onto the perimeter piles. We have been nothing short of impressed with its capabilities. We also purchased the chains (which I would recommend), but did pass on the wheel weights. With a 175 pound person on the tractor, it rarely... review »

New house on a hill, gravel driveway. My 10hp 2 stage snowblower struggled to clear the sloping part of the driveway and kept catching rocks. I picked up the blade and chains for my 24hp tractor. It was easy to assemble/attach, I probably spent more time just staring at the instructions trying to figure out what they were showing. Those could be more clear. Once I had it on we got a couple of 5+ inch falls. I probably spend the same amount of time clearing as with the snowblower, but I've got a cleaner drive and it's less effort. Just bundle up, throw on the Ipod and head out. Wish I would have... review »

I read other reviews and don't know what the problem is. It only took a little over an hour of actual work. I read the owners manual, laid out all the parts and went to work. I had one that was about ten years old and it was a pain to get on and off. This one goes on and off in only minutes. It's great.

The blade isn't to bad, just a bit flimsy. I think for the money they could have beefed it up a bit.
