Craftsman 15.5 hp 38 in. Deck Lawn Tractor - CA Model —

This is the first riding mower that i've owned. I do not have a huge yard to mow (about 1/2 acre) but it is big enough that a riding mower makes it easier and faster. I bought the 38" mower thinking it would be small enough to fit through my gate. When i got it home i had miscalculated by about 2 ". It would not fit through my gate. My gate was 38" wide and in needed 40" clearance. I thought i was gonna have to take my gate down to get it through. After reading the operators manual i stumbled upon the solution. The deck (blade portion) comes off by pulling 9 cotter pins. I was able to take the deck off roll the mower through the gate and put the deck back on all in about ten minutes. Thank goodness!
