This portable table saw is a high value performer with a strong suite of features and ease of use. I've been building amateur level cabinetry (murphy bed, bookshelves, tables) in my garage. The sliding miter table works flawlessly (although the markings for the guide are off slightly - 2 degrees - and requires checking before each use) and is a good feature. The fence attaches easily (yet the markings are off by 1/16") and holds firm - parallel to the blade. The blade height adjusts easily - the tilt is fussy and the scale also off by a couple of degrees. I really like the pull out extensions...
read full review »The table saw is a good starter, my first. It has done everything I need it to do. The biggest con is the non standard miter slot. It only has one on the left side and it is unlike anything out there. All featherboards will have to be custom made which could be a challange given the small width of the slot. I have just been clamping mine down to the table with 3 clamps and not even using the slot. The portability is why I bought it and that is 1 thing craftsman did well. It stores very well. You shouldn't be trying to cut full 4x8 sheets with this of course its going to rock alittle. ...
read full review »I am really disappointed in this saw. All the feature including stand are wonderful, HOWEVER the reason I ultimately want a saw for, this product will not achive. A clean percise square cut. After all the complex adjustments to the sliding miter and setting the blade angle at zero, the finish cut edge is never square up and down or back to front. Too much play in the sliding miter. Sears usually makes great products........ I am returning this saw. Sorry but don't buy this saw if you hope to make quality projects.
