Craftsman 15 in. Lathe, Bench Top, Variable Speed —
I bought this machine last year throught Craftsman Club. I have not had any problems with limited use. The machine seems to be a bit under powered at the recomended speed for roughing. I does vibrate at the 2000 rpm speed. I has its ideosyncracies and quirks. One problem I have noticed it the locking mechanism for the tool stand. The cam/chain is a bit finicky but with patience its overcome. I have used this very a very limited time. Presently I am going to turn balustres for a stair project and so far I have turned small items. It does a very nice job.
I dont have the extended warrenty, so if it breaks, I am out of pocket for parts and or service. This is not a production machine but is very nice for the home owner and hobbyist. I plan on purchasing the ddrill chuck and lathe chuck at later date.
