Very easy to assemble, great directions. It took me just a few hours to assemble. The tracer lathe works great for experienced and inexperienced woodcrafters. Expecting the same results and performance from this lathe at this price, as you would get from a $2000 + top of the line lathe doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. Overall this is a great machine I was disapointed that there wasn't any tools to go with it. For the price of this machine I expected them but other than that it is awesome!!!!

I am a newcomer to using a lathe. It would have been very helpful to have an instructional video. We hooked up the copycrafter, but don't know if we hooked it up right. We tried to copy a spindle, but the cutter made a very poor job of rounding the spindle. The directions were not very clear. I was able to figure out making a spindle free hand, but the lathe tools became dull very quickly. This was quite an expensive purchase for me & now I will have to purchase better quality lathe tools as well.
