Does the job

bought the craftsman 14 inch model. works as expected. was not into mechanical mowers because of cost, starting problems, pollution, inconvenience of getting oil/gas, bulky. so i settled for a push reel mower. my lawn has grown pretty long in some areas. been using hand trimmer/weed eater to cut over... read full review »

good for small yard.

I bought and cut my lawn yesterday and thought I made a good buy. It does have a small cutting surface so the passes must be over lapped quite a bit so if you have a large yard it might take more time then you might expect. It cuts Grass extremely well but anything else that comes it might take more... read full review »

Easy assenly, was put together in literally 2 minutes.. out the door and started cutting my small yard with horribly overgrown grass weeds etc..

great price for something that is so easy to use, low maintenance and durable.

you may have to go over the tall grass a few times... but come on... its a workout ... so its a win/win. Your grass is getting cut and your burning calories.

loving the mower.. you can never go wrong with a Sears product!!

I purchased the Craftsman Reel Mower because my gas mower is in the shop being repaired. I never wanted to spend a lot of money on a second mower. But still needed something to get the job done. I also figured there couldn't be too much go wrong with the reel mower as there isn't any spark plugs to change or other problems that gas mowers seem to have! Besides I could save on buying gas! The reel mower worked pretty good cutting my grass but not the weeds! Grass can't be too long or it won't do the job either! I felt safer letting my son help mow with this reel mower.

I thought about this for awhile because I have a small yard I normally cut using a string trimmer,  Unfortunately they rarely last more than 1 year so instead of buying my annual trimmer, I opted for this and couldn't be more happier.

I read numerous reviews before purchasing and had a good idea of what it would and wouldn't do.  Just like everyone says, won't cut tall grass (over 7-8") because it pushes it down and its not sticking up when the blades get there where with a power mower it springs back up into the spinning blades.  Sticks will also stop the blades but not a huge concern.  Most...

Going Green

Bought this a year ago, I do like how quiet it is so I can cut grass in the early morning.  Sometimes I have to go over long grass a few times.  Gets me some exercise while doing chores.

I bought my Craftsman 16" cut path reel mower about ten years ago.  As we have two 100 year old oaks, along with roots all over the lawn that go with them, it really takes a beating.  It has been bounced up and down every week (have to mow the front lawn one weekend, then the back the next weekend in the spring), banged into trees and the mailbox hundreds of times over the years, and it still cuts beautifully.  I have not lost a bolt or a nut from it in all this time either, which is amazing in itself considering the abuse it takes.  I also do all the maintenance on it myself (56 yo female)....

I have a very large yard (one acre) and have a Craftsman riding mower, and needed a mower for inaccessible areas and bought the manual one.  I wish that I had spent a little extra and gotten a small power mower.  The areas I need to mow are not on level ground and this mower isn't good for that.  Otherwise, it would be great for small flat lawns.

16 inch push mower

Great for small to medium yards - runs smoothly and cuts nicely... And you aren't polluting the air with fumes... Is the way to go even with medium yards.. With a large yard get a wider mower... but not gas or electricity

Love my mower

I bought this mower to do touch ups to save money until my yard man comes.  It does a great job and good exercise also.

This Craftsman Reel Mower has come in so handy for cutting the grass under the trampoline, playsets and under trees and bushes where you have a small space. It takes up little room and is easy to store.  I have this hanging from a hook on the wall in the garage.  This is durable and easy to care for and clean.  It is so easy to use that the children love to be the one to mow the lawn in hard to reach spaces.  Moves smoothly and easy to push.

Easy, Convenient, Green

Girlfriend bought for our yard (<1000 sq ft.). She's only 110 lbs and easily carries it up and down a flight of stairs. Great mower with sharp cut, light, nimble, and easy to clean. Only suggestion is to overlap strips by a few inches as wheelbase is wider than cutting blade. Easy, convenient, quiet, light, and environmentally friendly.

Surprising little mower.

Bought this mower because I was fed up fixing my gas mower every couple years and I had no place to store the gas mower inside so it sat out in the weather all year. I was surprised how well this mower cuts the grass and is light and easy to use. I can keep it stored in my enclosed front porch.

Great mower for small yards

I own a town house and have a very small backyard (9x18) this mower works great for the small space. I am a small women and had no problem manipulating it around the yard. I do need to use a trimmer to do the edges around my fence but for the price this mower is a great buy. I am especially happy I don't need to worry about having gas on hand for a gas mower! Oh and I store it in a very small shed that I bought on sears.com as well.
