Sears sells, at the stores, an adaptor deal, with stepped hose ends that should do the trick.

well my first thought was trying to do a homemade whole house vaccum but adams suggestion sounds a little less far fetched

yeah but youll need some duct caulk or sealant to keep a good air tight seal while your sucking up those leaves out of the water

It's easier to use, if you really tighten the components together, for blowing operation.

Maybe some duct tape?
