Excellent Product

This scroll saw is an good value because it offers many additional helps to the user. The tilt table works very well and is handy to use. I find the sawdust blower great help in keeping the area clean. Also, it is so easy to change blades and has a port for a shop vac. Everything a person would want... read full review »

Just okay

As a serious woodworking, I was in the market for a scroll saw just for some light duty work here and there. Purchased this saw, mainly cause of it's great price, and was very disappointed with the vibration of this machine. Controls are easy to use and the work area is large enough but overall performance... read full review »

Scroll saw????

Very excited to get this new saw...old one still running, but know it will not go on forever. Got this one home and set up. Put in a blade...very difficult to get tight enough to hold it....had a piece of quarter inch birch plywood with pattern ready to saw. Turned on the saw...MISTAKE !!! It vibrated so bad that before I could turn it off, there was a hole about 3/8" in the plywood. Not only did the saw go up and down, but sideways and every which way. The speed control did not work on it. When you turned on the light the saw would not work. It was EXTREMELY loud...sounded like a tractor !!! It... read full review »

Almost a good saw

Air Blower does not blow air - totally useless. Plastic housing under on/off switch fell off - screw holders broke?? I never touched the screws! I like the way it cuts and the large cutting table. It really has the basics for a great tool - just the finishing touches destroy a great saw. "I practice my breathing tech blowing air off my cut pieces."

Great Features

This saw has some of the best features that I've seen on a scroll saw. I like the large left and right tilting table as well as the tension release and quick change system for the blade. The air blower works just fine on mine as long as you position it properly. I think if they made it to blow with more pressure it would cause the saw dust to fly around your face and be problematic. The saws vibration on higher speed settings is a bit intense but I usually do not require full speed when using it. At lower speeds the vibration is very slight and manageable. I did have a couple of negative initial... read full review »

GREAT PRODUCT

I purchased this product and I love it. I purchased a DELTA 16 inch scroll saw only about 9 months before , and no matter how I adjusted it, it was always breaking the blades. I would need 3-4 blades for 1 project. When i bought my craftsman 16 inch and i used it for the first time, I could tell it was a great product right away. I love the ease of change the blades without the need for a tool. The delta needed a long tool to get inside. I love the tension adjustment, if the tension is to tight the lock will not go down easy, making you aware it is to tight. The delta was time consuming and very... read full review »

Not happy

Picked mine up a few hours ago and when I got home the holder for the light and blower was broken off and it sounds terrible - like a rod knocking in a car motor. Will take back tomorrow and hope I get a better one.

Good Tool

This scroll saw is easy to set up and works well. The tilt table works well and is handy to use. The sawdust blower could do a better job, but is satisfactory. It sometimes gets in the way. Saw is quite and changing blades is a snap. The saw is a great value and I recopmmend fully. I got mine for less than $100 through sears club.

Perfect for my craft jobs

This saw has been just great for my projects. It has a sawdust blower and a up close light that can both be adjusted. The gurad is a little in the way and not so easy to move around, but is very handy. The light bulb went out and could easily be replaced with Christmas light bulb. Stock up durring the Christmas season.

Worth less

This is the first saw I bought for woodworking. Used only one time and motor stopped working and vibration from the saw running broke the screws around the on/off switch. Returned it, and Sears replaced it. It the second one brakes I will not replace with the same.

poor construction tolerences

This saw vibrates a lot. Well, it vibrates way, way too much, which says that not much thought was put into resonance dampening through frame rigidity or design. When running, the blade moves off center approximately 1/16 of an inch to both sides of center, which means that your cut starts out 1/8 of an inch wide, then narrows to something a bit wider than what you anticipate. If you've ever been concerned that your angles are too sharp, you won't have that as a concern with this saw as the wide side to side movement becomes apparent whenever a corner is "rounded," literally "rounded." Do yourself... read full review »

Not worth the money

Have had saw for about 6 months.Lower blade holder is hard to get to and even harder to set without breaking loss.I have worked with changing a blade for over half hour to get blade to set right. Most of the time I have worked with a lower tension setting which gives poor results in item I am cutting. Bad design ! Also alot of vibration and I have even bolted it to a table. Finally had enough and went and bought a Dewalt 20 inch. If you want to get into the art of scroll sawing do yourself a favor and look else where.

Good saw, good price

I just bought this saw (6-12-07) and it seems to do a very neat job eventhough I have never used this type before. I made air a little more powerful by disassembling pump and turning clear plastic tube around. It is flared on pump side from being on there so long and I noticed air escaping through black flex line. I also reamed out red nozzle which may have helped. It blows better than when I first turned on and just enough to keep dust off. The only other problem I noticed was the leverer leg was not adjusting correctly, so I had to remove locking "plate nut" to get saw to sit level and not vibrate... read full review »

Dumbs down for this saw

My wife had brought this saw for me on father's. When I went to use it the motor was dead. I return and got another one. The second one didn't work either. The tension knob was broke, back to sears. the 3rd and 4th had the housing for the on-off switch broken in pieces. The 5th one was also had a bad the tension knob. Afther 5 trips to Sears and a half tank of gas, I gave up and just got my money back.

2 stars

I bought this scroll saw a few months ago just for on the side projects...it was only $100 but it vibrates, its really loud, and u cant make a turn without it jumping and messing your project up,the blades have prongs on them so they hardly fit through any of the gates ive drilled, when you turn, the blade turns and bends and after a few turns its bent and it you need a new one...the blower doesnt hardly work so I have to whistle the whole time or blow every 2 seconds...bottom screw that titens the blade in place falls off and u have to take off this plate and takes away precious time...if u use... read full review »
