The Limited Edition Front Wheel Drive walk behind 50 State Model is one of the best mowers I ever owned. The cut is great, the power is there for high grass cutting, and starts with no problem. When used in the mulching mode it also preforms well. Grass collection bag is easy on - easy off and...

Most Helpful Critical Review

For  starters, the Honda engine is a wonderful, smooth-running engine.  It does have  "automatic choke".  Just pull the choke lever back, and this thing starts very easily will the first pull! The choke adjusts itself and returns on its own after a few seconds. This is the second summer I've had...

It still needs some fine tuning!!!!

I really like this lawnmower! It was easy to set up and get out of the box. Challenges I am having are the wheels are slightly out of level with each other, the bag is difficult to empty if it is full due to the small opening, and the self propelled unit has and immediate thrust to it when I pull the handle. I have learned to start pushing the mower and then pull the handle for easier control----kind of negates the reason for self propelled. Overall, decent mower! I bought the warranty so Sears will be seeing the mower to help correct problems I find!!!

Limited Edition Mower

I was completely dissatisfied with this mower. The only good comment I have is that the mower did mulch well. First the mower deck is constructed of light metal. The engine was noisier than the 15 year old B&S I just sold. The front wheel drive pulls unevenly requiring constant adjustment. The mower is a single speed which is much too slow as a walk behind. I bit the bullet and returned the mower to Sears. I do not recommend this mower.

This baby is awesome!

You cannot go wrong with buying the Craftsman Limited Edition Honda mower. It takes mere minutes to setup and I especially like the looks of the mower.

Once I had the mower gassed and oiled up it only took 2 pulls and I was off. Don't forget to turn the gas on via the little lever on the side of the engine and also don't forget to install the plug wire. On a side note, the plug wire came off at one point while mowing but I simply put the wire back on and it never came off again.

The mower ran very quiet and was very smooth, the self propelled feature is very nice and does not go so quick that you...

Small size, big power

This mower with the small 160cc engine seems to run through thick grass as well if not better than my 7 hp Yardman. I would like to note to the person whose mower would not start - if the mower is tipped upside down during shipping, the small amount of oil in it can seep through to the air filter. The filter might look okay but it will not allow the engine to breath. This happened to mine and once I replaced the air filter it immediately started and has run on the first pull ever since. It was frustrating but this is no fault of Sears or the manufacturer. Other than that I would have to say this... read full review »

Excellent mower

I've been nursing an old mower along for years, but finally decided to try something new. Honda motors are a given to work well, and the functions of the mower are great for my 1/4 acre. I've never had a mower fill the catcher as full as this one without dumping clumps all over. Even when full, it didn't leave any clippings...the catcher actually just fell off it was so heavy. The front wheel drive truly helped me on the hills, and the speed was perfect. Worth every penny.

Ran Once

I bought this mower just over 2 weeks ago. It started up the day we got it assembled, but wouldn't start again. I had a friend, who works with lawn mowers, come over to take a look at it and he said just to return it. When we returned it, we found out that the store didn't have any more Craftsman mowers with Honda Engines in stock. We couldn't buy the floor models of any because they could still order them, however it'd take nearly 2 weeks to get them in.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY

I bought it on a $110.00 off sale and got $25.00 more off for buying on the web. I just took it out of the box and cut my grass. My grass was 8 inches high (I was on a long vacation) so I figured to have to cut it twice. Not so. It did a great job and was easy to start. It's well built and as a Craftsman with a Honda engine it looks like it will hold up to my rough treatment. It's a do.

Well Pleased !!!!!!!!

I just purchased my mower and cut the grass once. The grass was high, damp, and was covered with leaves. it cut and mulched with very little to no clippings left behind. I'm very pleased so far, but will add more info next year after a dozen or so cuts. It started on the first pull every time

Each weekend I would struggle with my old lawnmower to get it started and then when it eventually coughed into action it would whine and die and I would have to repeat the priming, pulling and adjusting.  Finally after getting into the usual sweat about this I gave the offending beast a hefty kick and zoomed into Sears to take a look at their easy start mowers.  I must say I was a bit sceptical about the "easy start" claims but decided to give the Craftsman 21 Front Wheel drive a try.  What a brilliant decision - this mower is a dream to operate.  It starts at first pull, I don't have...

Great bargain!

I've had my new mower for about a month now and I am very pleased thus far. The engine is powerful yet quiet compared to my old mower. I would recommend this mower especially when it is on sale!

I am a senior and so is my wife.  We both love to mow with this mower.  It starts on the first pull, and it cuts Florida grass (thick) like butter.  The 21" swath is perfect.  I have had other rear bagger mowers before and they quit expelling grass clippings into the bag way before the bag is filled up, not the case with this one.  If I had to point out one fault on this mower, it would be that the clippings go into the bag so tightly that the bag is hard to empty.  My suggestion to the design engineers is to have the bag  open on the rear for easier emptying.

This 247.376830 mower replaced our Consumer Reports #1 rated Craftsman 917.37683, with its 7hp Briggs OHV engine. With its great power, reliability, and easy start 917.37683 was a tough act to follow, it was so much better than anything I had before that I will only consider mowers with an OHV engine from this point forward.

My local Sears had only 3 OHV engine lawnmowers available, and only one on a front-wheel drive mower - 247.376830.

When it comes to performance, 247.376830 is a worthy successor. The 5.5hp Honda motor is even better than the 7hp Briggs! We love it! It seems to have equal...

Very nice front wheel drive model

Overall - Love it! Of course I'm coming off a 15 year old Toro, but still, this Craftsman product is very sound for the money. My only concern is the rear wheels-I though they were a little flimsy but after using it several times they appear to be adequate. Sound level is very quiet with the Honda motor, and this thing "sips" gas compared to my old Toro. I haven't used the bagging feature, probably never will, since I just mulch my lawn (you should too!). The blade cuts it so fine I couldn't even find those patches/clumps of grass you normally see. The front wheel drive pulling option took a little... read full review »
