Just got this 2 weeks ago. It replaced a Toro Power Curve I had for a long time. The Toro cleared flawlessly but it was impossible to start and needed to be serviced EVERY year even when I completely ran out the oil/gasoline mixture in it and used a stablizer on it. The Toro was perfect otherwise, but not much use if it wouldn't run.
I woke up to about 4 inches of medium weight snow and tried it for the first time. It started right up. Winters are very cold here in northern Illinois so the electric start is a big help.
It cut through the snow pretty easily and was throwing it a good 15-20 feet, if not more. It never clogged but with 4" I wouldn't expect it to.
My biggest complaint is that the wheels are a little small and it's a little awkward pushing it--particularly uphill. The auger is supposed to help propel it and it does, but you have to get the angle just right or it will drag on the pavement. Because of this it didn't clear all the way to the concrete (maybe I'm just not used to using it yet).
The chute can be turned 180 degrees but no more. It would be much nicer if it turned 200+ degrees or so.
The gas filler is in the middle of the snowblower--an odd and awkward spot.
It's a decent snowblower. It's more awkward to use than my old Toro but the Toro was impossible to start even when properly maintained.
This snow blower does not have a 2 stroke engine so you don't need to mix oil into the gasoline (unlike my troublesome Toro). Because of this and with the electric start I don't expect to have as much trouble starting this blower as I did with my Toro.
