Craftsman 2 gal. Air Compressor with 17 pc. Accessory Kit —

This is my third compressor and the second addition to my current tool arsenel as I currently own the Craftsman 33-gal oil-less unit. Unlike my bigger Craftsman oil-less compressor this little unit is quiet enough that I don't need ear protection. I was looking for a small, portable compressor to use with my finish and brad nailers. Especially important to me was portability and longevity. This unit is about 35-40 lbs and is compact enough to be easily carried up and down stairs and takes up little room in my trunk when being transported. The compressor fills the 2-gal tank in only a couple of minutes. So quickly in fact that the cast iron cylinder is only slightly warm to the touch. The tank is large enough that I can drive several finish nails before the tank demands re-compression. The lubricated cast-iron cylinder dampens noise considerably, as compared to the oil-less aluminum compressors and like all cast-iron compressors, I suspect it will provide superior longevity. This unit is rated at 50% duty-cycle, which easily meets the demands of nailer operation. The "fit and finish" is excellent and the compact design is well executed. Guages are accurate, easily legible and the adjustable regulator easily operated, ensuring very quick and accurate adjustment to meet your air tool's pressure requirement. Likewise the tank's drain cock is prominent and easily operated with a nice-sized, half-twist knob. Makes draining condensate from the tank a simple matter of routine. Bottom line is that this is a very nice compressor for the price. It is nicely designed and well built. I highly recommend it.
