I just wanted to say that I ordered the mulching blades for my lawn tractor. I am recently divorced and now I have to learn to do the things I never did before. When I first got the tractor, I loved it, but it threw the grass so far and everywhere. Now the mulching blades are on and it doesnt throw the...

3 stars

I would agree with others on the fact that the blades do what they're supposed to do, but the fact that they bend very easy makes them very expensive. When you don't have much choice in blades, you have to keep buying. Hopefully over time they will make the blades stronger so they don't bend easily.... read full review »

sure don't build 'em like they used to

I agree with the previous reviewer about how easily these things ding and dent when hitting something in the grass. Just took a chunk out of a new blade by accident while mowing the backyard. I've been able to grind down and sharpen previous blades after a stone or even bark chunks made it into the path. I've had blades on my walk-behind mower for years that never damaged this easily. Recent landscaping in my rough soil left a few surprises hidden even after I was careful to remove the big stuff. I'll get another set of blades but will sharpen this set up until I hit the area a few more times while... read full review »

Be careful

We have to buy replacements already after 4 mowings because they bent when I ran over a thick stick. Of course we have not choice but to buy new ones. They do mulch great though; just be careful and pick up debris first!

light metal bends easily

The blades are very light metal, they do not take a hit from rock or other submerged objects. great for finished lawns but poor on rough landscape. heavy weight non-mulching blades are best for rough landscape lawns!

Blade are no Good

Bought a set last summer and one cutting they bent .. They are such a thin metal ... need to make a stronger metal blade for the grass in South dakota ... Blades should last longer than 1 cutting .... Not very Pleased with this product....

Mulch Blades

Easy to install. Cuts like a new mower.

Replacement Blades

These blades cut just as true as the original blades.

Pretty good

These blades are not the same as the standard blades that come with the 28856 42" lawn tractor as someone else ad posted in another similar review. The kit works fairly well. Minimal residual clippings left if mowing wet grass or grass that's too tall. I tried the red advanced bagging/mulching blades (like the gators) and they did very poorly - looked like they only cut half the grass. If you look at the actual cutting surface of these or the standard side discharge/bagging blades there is much more blade area than the red advanced bagging/mulching. Check the tire pressures and deck heiht to keep...
