I wanted a new hedge trimmer for some small shrubs. I am so pleased with this trimmer that I will likely buy the larger size for my big shrubs.
It cuts through the branches like butter!
I trimmed my hedge in about 20 minutes where it used to take me an hour with hand cutters. The blades are sharp and had no troubles with even the thicker branches. The light weight of the trimmer helped me to reach the back edge of the hedge without a ladder.
Even the instructions were understandable and had information that helped me do a professional looking job. Great value for the money!
I bought this hedge trimmer about 2 weeks ago to trim my newly acquired 400 foot long 15 foot high Laurel Hedge. The trimmer cut through everything with ease except for some 3/4 in branches that you could hear it strain but from my experience with the unit so far if it fits between the teeth this trimmer will cut it.
It is fairly lightweight as I cut all 400 feet in 1 day half of which was me holding it above my head and out at arms length. I expected to take a break but the only break i needed was to get some water and get out of the sun.
Being electric I expected it to be fairly quiet but with...
read full review »This craftsman hedge trimmer worked wonders on our front hedges. It cut through all types of hedges, thick and thin it went through it all.
Id truly recommend this craftsman over others. The price was good and the quality was better, thanks craftsman.
I had already read great reviews for the 22 in. Craftsman hedger and went to Sears to buy one. At Sears I held the Black and Decker 18 in. hedger and the Craftsman 20 and 22 in. hedgers. I changed my mind about the 22 in. because the 20 in. was lighter and seemed like it would be easier to minipulate. The 20 in. Craftsman had a half inch gap between the teeth whereas the Black and Decker 18 in. was only a 3/8 inch gap. There was not much difference in weight between the18 in. Black and Decker and the 20 in. Craftsman so I bought the 20 in. Craftsman.
I just used it for the first time and...
read full review »It does the job. Price is good. But it's not easy to use considering you have to drag the cord all the time.
The hedge trimmer was simple to assemble, and ready to use within minutes. It operated without problems, and the trimmed hedges looked great.
priced better then ******* and its a much better product
This is a great product that works well. We are very happy with this hedge trimmer, it is lightweight and easy to use.
I just bought the craftsman 71-79441 Hedgetrimmer yesterday and used it this morning. It is very lightweight (described at 6.2 pounds), very powerful (described at 3.4 amps) has wide cutting openings (described at 5/8"). The price is very competitive at $39.99. The closest I could find was priced at $29.97 but the cutting openings were only 3/8" and the motor was only 2.7 amps. The motor on the Crafsman did not stall even when branches cut were at the maximum diameter. I am very pleased with this Craftsman purchase.
