Great shovel..even though I only had to use it once. It is lightweight, very strong and ergonomic. I bought this shovel because I only want to buy something once and this shovel had all the attributes you would want. Add to that a lifetime guarantee and you got it all. I am very happy with this shovel and I think anyone would feel the same.
...

The only thing I don't like about this shovel is that if the snow is hard or icy it is too flexible to break though. For the easy stuff it is the best shovel we have bought.. otheres have only lasted a season or two . This one is on year 4.
...

This is the best snow shovel that I have ever owned and want to buy two more! First, let me start by saying that this shovel is extremely light weight. When I bought this, I actually was just looking for a really cheap snow shovel at Sears, but this was the only one they had left, and I am so glad i bought it. It cuts through snow like nothing. It is made out of an extremely durable type of plastic and it has a metal tip on it that is great for cutting through ice! This shovel got us through the huge snowstorm last winter. The padded handle is really nice! I don't even have to wear gloves when using it. Overall, because of the light weight, durability and padded handle I highly recommend this shovel to anyone! Did I mention it has the forever guarantee?...

I purchased this last year and was skeptical at first by the clear plastic scoop. The price was high compared to other shovels next to it, but it had features others didn't. This shovel was well worth the money. This winter with the northeast getting dumped by snow, was perfect. The snow would stick sometimes but I spray a little PAM on the scoop and I had no problems. The grip is a nice thick rubberized one so it's very easy to hold and feels comfortable. I know others complained about the ergonomics, but it still the best snow shovel with a strait handle that I've ever seen or used. I've moved maybe a ton or more of snow with this and I expect it to last through tons more. It's so good my neighbors borrowed it when their old shovel broke and ended up buying this one for themselves!...

After the pounding of snow that we got in 2010, I knew that I wanted a new, high end snow shovel for 2011. I don't normally like to splurge on yard equipment, but this was an exception. I wanted the most durable, space age, high capacity show shovel in existence. I was half serious when I told my wife that I was hoping to find a NASA branded shovel at the store.

I can't say for sure if this is that shovel, but it's pretty **** good. The 20" scoop means you can move large quantities of snow very quickly. With a single scoop of this shovel, you can move a 12-18" thick layer of snow completely down to the concrete, including the hard, bottom layer of snow that sticks to the ground. Granted it's going to be heavy shovel full of snow, but it does make for quick work. Just remember to life with your legs!

The metal ice breaker strip is great for cutting down to the conrete, but don't expect to break thick ice with it. After all, the body of the shovel is plastic and even though it's......

This is a great shovel, takes care of wet heavy Maine snow with no problem. Despite what most reviews have said this shovel is available YEAR ROUND online, do the snowmobiles stay out at your local snowmobile dealer through summer?? No boats and 4-wheelers take over. So why would Sears not make room for season specific tools? Also I think most of the complainers think that a company should just have a product when they need it...they don't take into account any number of people might have come and taken advantage of their hand tool gaurantee before them. I need it u should have it that's the mentality. Seriously though this shovel is great quality and the sraper bar also scrapes up sleet and freezing rain we always get here in the Northeast.
...

This was the only shovel available to replace the steel shovel with the fiber handle. The handle broke on my steel shovel after many years of good service. The first time I used this shovel was in heavy snow and it was flimsy and too light for heavy snow. Appeared to have been designed by someone that has never shoveled snow in their life. Reminds me why I quit shopping at Sears. The lifetime warranty is no good when you can't get the product replaced with anything but junk. Just like their Kenmore vacuum cleaner that they stopped making bags for. Force you to buy something else. I'll buy a quality show shovel somewhere else.
...

The scraper bar is not thick enough gauge to last. If you don't break something else on this shovel (which would be covered by the Craftsman guarantee) then you will wear out the bar which is not covered. That is planned obsolence on Sears' part. Also, the older Craftsman snow shovel (coated aluminum scoop, galvanized blade, D-handle, fibre handle) is no longer sold so they got me on that one. Can't replace it however it happens to break - clever work Sears. My much much older non-Craftsman, non Sears (coated aluminum scoop, thick gauge blade, long wood handle with out D-handle) is not as easy to use (no D-handle) but it is still going strong. My Craftsman is absolutely unusable as of this year. Maybe I can find a machine shop to rebuild my Craftsman the way it should have been built in the first place.

I purchased this shovel last winter (December 2008) because one of our old ones had been stolen. What a great replacement!

The D handle is big enough for a gloved hand to easily fit, but with a rubberized grip for extra control. The shaft has a cushioned collar to eliminate the ice-cold shaft freezing your hands. The shaft itself is crafted of lightweight aluminum, and the blade is a lightweight transparent polycarbonate, which combine to reduce the weight of the shovel and make shoveling easier. After all, the snow is heavy enough! It also has a pretty durable ice-breaking blade on the edge, which came in handy when breaking apart sheets of compacted snow from the driveway.

Rumor has it there's a new ergonomic version of this shovel coming out. The traditional straight shaft is the only thing keeping this shovel from 5 stars. This basic design is functional but not as comfortable to use. However, it's still worthwhile for anyone looking to lighten their shoveling load. And, of course,...
...
