Cooked Motor

Craftsman 20 gal. Wet-Dry Vac, 6.5 Peak hp —

The Vac overall worked great for 87 days. It has great suction ability. I personally really dont like things made wholy out of plastic and was skeptical at first when I purchased it. Then the motor started to cook itself on the 87th day of ownership. It started to smell really bad and was throwing small bits of plastic out of the motor vents.

We should all learn something from this - do not run a high powered shop vacuum like this one plugged up, or restricted. This is the fastest way to burn up a motor.
This machine relies on AIR FLOW for its internal cooling. If you are constantly hogging on it (with your attachment sealing itself against what you are trying to vacuum) - Then you might want to think about putting a bypass hole in your hose.
