I purchased this shovel last winter (December 2008) because one of our old ones had been stolen. What a great replacement!

The D handle is big enough for a gloved hand to easily fit, but with a rubberized grip for extra control. The shaft has a cushioned collar to eliminate the ice-cold shaft freezing your hands. The shaft itself is crafted of lightweight aluminum, and the blade is a lightweight transparent polycarbonate, which combine to reduce the weight of the shovel and make shoveling easier. After all, the snow is heavy enough! It also has a pretty durable ice-breaking blade on the edge, which...

Needs to lose the metal scraper bar. Let the polycarbonate do the work, and make it a little narrower... in America.

I picked up and used my new shovel for the first time today. It was very light-weight, easy to handle and did a great job of cleaning even the packed snow in my driveway. If today was any example , I feel that this shovel will last me a long time. As an elderly lady with a long driveway to shovel, I'm very pleased with this new purchase and would reccomend it to anyone who might need a light-weight tool for cleaning snow.

This shovel stinks. Unfortunately, it seems to be the only Craftsman snow shovel so when they are back in stock I will trade my broken one for a new one. This shovel did not even last one season! It's plastic. I had a feeling when I bought it that it might not last, but being a Craftsman figured it was worth a try. Sure wish they had some metal ones.

The Blade is curvered leaving snow behind and much faster wear in the middle of the blade. The best shovels are the Staight Edge Steel Plow type all steel with a heavy dutyedge added.
