Overall value of this product is absolutely worth the money. I have used last years model and this years as well. Likes of last year vs this year is that - last years smaller chute will throw the snow higher up in the air but this creates alot of blowing snow in windy conditions. This years model has... review »

I just got home with the new snow blower and my initial impression is one of disappointment. I should have looked at it in a store rather than purchasing on line (site unseen). Nice features, but if it makes it through a winter without something breaking I will be amazed! It is not designed for heavy... review »

This machine is not back but the chute control is not up to par.  I got the machin home and the chute would not rotate.

Purchased the 26" snowthrower in late October 2008 to have the capability of clearing our 125' gravel(qp) driveway. I started it up and ran it for about 10 minutes back then, also testing self propelling and auger movement. Also placed it at its max height to minimize the chance of thrown gravel. Seemed to operate fine, but placed it in the back of our garage. 'Finally' got to use its function three times for the 19-21 Dec 08 snowfalls, with the first clearing session having about 8"-10" of powder. What an amazing machine!! The snow is eaten and thrown about 15' upwards and away, leaving cleared... review »

Bought this machine in November after a 2 hour shovelfest from an earlier storm. We have had a lot more snow since then.Simple to put together, started right up.Was leaning towards the next bigger machine but got this size for easier handling.Neighbor has older, not as wide Troybuilt that I have run. This machine much easier to handle and operate.Chute control seems flimsy but when you get used to it much faster than the crank setups. With all the snow here[most in 10 years]started doing driveways for people around town. After doing for hire work should have gotten the next bigger size machine.Have put... review »

First of all, I rarely give 5 stars to any product - mostly because there are very few perfect products. However, this one made me stop and reassess my policy. I tried to think of ways in which this product could be better. Okay, here they are: 1) It could automatically remove the snow without me having to use it; 2) It could not throw snow in my face when the wind is blowing; 3) It could never clog in overly wet or slushy snow; and 4) It could know where I want the chute placed without me having to use the nifty joystick. Other than that, this sucker works pretty darn well. Since I purchased... review »

Over all this is a wonderful machine for the money. I 've only used it 3 times so far in 6 inch (easy, blew it about 25 ft) and also 2-3 inches of pure slush/water which it did pretty good (blew it about 5-10 ft). I have a 2200 sq ft driveway and all 3 times that i have used it it has taken approx 25 minutes which is Great!! ( not includine shoveling the big porch, hottub and stairs 40-50 minutes). I figured it is about a 6.5 h.p. motor but these new tech motors have the power of about a 8 h.p. It starts on 1 or 2 pulls which i am not use too, Great !, No need to use the eletric start, although... review »

I read several reviews before purchasing. This model seemed to provide substantial features for the price compared to similar Cub Cadet and Yard Machine/MTD models. Another person complained about the cable controls. They assumed the "cheep" construction would not hold up under severe cold weather. I can tell you this is not so. -18 degrees (-41 windchill), started right up every thing works the same as if it were 50 degrees. I have used it on 8 inches and less in very cold weather. So far works great. No large snow falls around a foot yet. It does clear larger piles quite easily though. Very little... review »

I have used this twice since my purchase. The first snow was a 11 - 13" with drifts to 18" and it gets through just fine. The set up went very easily except for the strange bowtie cotter pin clip. The operation was very easy to get accustom to and I cleared a 250 foot drive and apron in about 35 minutes. The chute joystick adjustment works well after getting used to its operation. I found that the chute doesn't hold the maximum right or left setting but in puffy light snow it can throw 20 to 25 feet. I found that the engine is strong, but I am not accustom to the new (lawsuit caused) avoidance... review »

I got this snowblower in September in anticipation of the winter and am very glad I did! I have used it five or six times this winter on snow falls ranging from 4 to 14 inches. I have also used it to clear 10 inches of snow that has been standing for over 24 hours and 12 inches of crud piled at the end of the driveway from the snow plow clearing the road. It is working very well. I grew up in Alaska and have used several snow blowers and I am happy with the price and performance of this one. Today it even cleared a 28-inch deep berm of wind drifted snow. On the first pass it climbed up and cleared... review »

I just bought this from Sears yesterday after two major snowfalls in Chicagoland. I assembled, gassed, oiled and had it starting in less than 45 minutes and on 3rd pull. On this "hard stuff" in my typical length 2 car driveway, it did the job in flying colors. The "Loch Ness" chute feature is awesome but it kind of sways on its own. Snow-wise great job. I still used quite a bit of muscle to maneuver this around. If I could have a "do over", I would've spent the extra $100 for the 8hp Briggs engine model without the fancy chute feature. That model can cut snow like butter and requires much less... review »

I am using this snow thrower for two seasons now. My house is a corner house and this snow thrower is very helpful. I had taken extended warranty for 5 years but after the first season performance I canceled my warranty. Second season just one pull it started good. I also would like to mention that I followed all cleaning up and storing instructions at the end of the first season. I gave four stars because of the joy stick chute control though it is very easy to control than a normal chute control, it doesn't stay to the farthest left or right side. I have to hold my control to point the chute... review »

I replaced my 15 year old Toro single stage snow blower with this model after several back-breaking snowfalls last year. This snow blower has handled everything I've thrown at it so far and we've already had a couple big snow storms this year. Our last snow fall filled my drivway to the top of the intake on the snow blower and it didn't stall or anything. My only complaint is it takes a little while for it to warm up. When I start it and have the throttle set on high it sounds like I am reving it up over and over again - it kind of sounds like a motor boat skipping in and out of the water over... review »

Picked it up yesterday and it's still in my truck. I looked at all similar models at other major stores. This on has the best features and it went on a great sale price. I gave my Sears 250 cc 27" 3 yr old model to my brother. I had trouble making turns with it due to it's weight. So far as the gear shift of the other writer i hope he is incorrect. my old model made me bend down each time I wanted to change gears or adjust chute diretion. The output angle had to be made manually. A neighbor has another model like this one and has not had any problems withe the gear shift for 3 yrs. We'll see, but... review »

Very nice thrower. Shoots the snow a LONG distance. Just used it for the first time with about 6" on the driveway and 14" at the end of the driveway. Handled the snow pretty effortlessly. The plastic chute isn't the best but gets the job done. Starts first pull, runs great. Controls take a little getting used to but that will clear up with time. Might need chains for the wheels but will give it a few more snow storms to make sure it isn't me... One tip for any new buyer, get sheer pins NOW. I used two on my first use (2 come with the thrower) and Sears around me are out which I understand is... review »
