My husband and I bought this lawn mower after the first two we bought from Sears lit on fire! I am happy to report that this lawn mower has not given us any problems. It is easy to use and powerful. It should be noted that the employees at Sears were nice enough to put this lawn mower together for us (they felt terrible about the previous mowers we returned).
I purchased my lawn mower last year after my first craftsman mower finally had the wheels fall off and it was not repairable but I had had it for over 10 years. Any craftsman mower you would purchase is ideal. They stand behind their product and are long lasting. I found it to be smooth going and cuts well. I will always continue and buy craftsman as long as Sears is around. Thanks for a great product.
This piece of equipment is in one word. . . GREAT! It is actually perfect for a woman with little yard skill to operate. The ignition is easy and starts with minimal effort. It is easy to maneuver and the wheels actually are easy to clean. I have had my mower for a little over 12 months and kept it exposed (unfortunately) during the offseason to the weather and it has held up great. No rust, no wear and tear. Right now it looks as though I just purchased this item two weeks ago instead of 14 months ago.
Hey my dad still has his and I could not wait to get my own and it is better than his and I know I will have this craftsman lawnmower for a long time.
I have purchased 2 craftsman lawnmowers, they were both JUNK, I finally went and bought a John Deer. The John Deer is a real mower. Don't waste your money on Craftsman JUNK!
I really trust the Craftsman brand but was disappointed with this mower and ended up returning it. I was not a big fan of the large rear wheels and the front wheel drive feels much more difficult to use for turns than a rear wheel drive model.
This handy lawn mower has made my life so much easier! I used to hire a lawn man but ever since I purchased the Craftsman 21 in Lawn Mower, I don't need help with my lawn from anyone. I saved, saved, saved!!! With the rear bag there is literally NO racking or cleaning up after you cut your lawn. All you have to do is pull it out and dump it. I love that it has different levels of cutting, so you can cut as low or high as you want. The high wheels make it easy to go over any bumps you make come accross. I just bought a new sears highboy rear bagger. The other one lasted 10 years and for $199.00 that cost me about $19 per year. This is a great little mower and I expect to get the same from it also.

Excellent running mower that is easy to start time after time. Keep the blade sharp and check the oil although I have never had a reason to add a drop. This is a no brain follow the directions running machine.
The draw backs are agravating but manageable. First and formost the front wheel drive gear is made of plastic and will degrade over time. I only got about a year and a half out of mine. I almost looked for a new mower until I discovered the problem. I ordered the part on the internet and it arrived quickly. Installation was a breeze and it now works perfectly again.
