Very happy that we purchased this product. Very easy to use and lightweight for me to use. I absolutely love this product. Used it last fall to trim all of our bushes. We have a lot of trimming to do in our yard and it worked great. No problems with the cord, just make sure you buy a extra long extension cord. It went everywhere in our yard and our yard is not small. Definitely recommend.

This hedge trimmers is easy to use and able to tackle the thick bushes around my home. The longer blade makes it easier to reach the back bushes without having to crawl between the house and bush.

I originally had to return the first one I purchased. Since it stopped working after 1hr of use. Must ahve been a bad unit. * The handle on all these units are difficult to assemble, but I was able to make it work. I think it has a bad design since the handle doesnt match the motor housing. *You must oil the blades if you want these trimmers to last. Oil BEFORE USE and after use for storage. * My second one worked great without no problems. * You must wrap the cord around the handle before plugging in, so the cord doesnt fall off while using trimmer * Trimmer seems good so far with two uses....

Seems to work well...as long as your don't cut the extention cord. A little heavy after a while. Installing the handle was a little bit confusing. I think I got it on correctly.

This trimmer was used about three times a year. Lasted less than two years and the switch went out, common problem. Sears does not carry a replacement switch. This $60 item should not a throw away item. The switch would cost about $0.50 if they would just stock it. Do not buy this cheap trimmer! Very dissapointed with Sears for selling and carrying something that you can not get parts for.

I purchased the Craftsman 22" electric hedge trimmer after using the Craftsman 16" electric hedge trimmer from a friend. The 22" covers a larger area for a faster even trim. I am using an outdoor extension cord and it stays secure without any problems. I enjoy the continuous on feature so I can the job finished. I would read the manual and follow the instructions on how long to run in continuous on mode. Be sure to use penetrating oil when storing for long periods of time this will help the life of the blade operation.

22 in. dual action blades for a clean cut and 40% less vibration.
3 sided, 4 position comfort handle provides larger gripping area with multiple positions for maximum comfort.
Lock-on switch for continuous running.
Lock-off switch prevents accidental starting.
Cord retention prevents trimmer from coming unplugged.
Pre-hardened, rust resistant steel blades stay sharp longer.

I would recommend this trimmer to a friend without hesitation.

Electric connector on trimmer (thin blades) does not hold electric cord receptacal well; it has to be plugged in again every few minutes. A heavy duty14 GA extension cord is used to avoid voltage drop....

This is the first trimmer I ever owned. In the past I trimmed my hedges by hand and it took forever so I finally decided to buy one. I was suprised how fast I was able to get all my hedges trimmed. This unit exceeded all my expectations....

Have to agree: poor fit of handle makes it unsafe September 14, 2011

I can only echo the other negative review. I bought this at the beginning of the season, and have not needed to use it until know. The handle is plastic and is supposed to attach to the body and be adjustable. There are several plastic "teeth" on the handle attachment that are supposed to keep the handle in place once you attach and tighten the screws and nut. The fit of the handle to the body was so poor that the teeth on the handle could not engage the teeth on the body, so the handle would continually slip no matter how hard you tightened the lug nut that is supposed to hold the handle in place. I am going to have to return the trimmer as well - and I hope they take it back. I am sincerely disappointed.

i was looking for a replacement for my black and decker bushhog trimmer and was just about to buy the same one when i saw this one on sears website. it's 2" shorter but more powerful at 4amp vs 3.3 or something close to that on the black and decker. plus, it was $20 cheaper.

it cuts much faster and doesnt jam like the black and decker did and i dont even notice the 2" shorter length.

I recently bought this item in-store and on sale (20$ off). I did not want a loud gas hedger nor did I need a super duty model. This electric model was a good match. It has enough power for the hedges on my property, is light weight, and is easy to use. So far I have used it four times over the last 3 weeks and have had no problems. It is easy to clean the machine after each use. It has a decent handle grip, It alo has a lock switch for continuous use. This is a basic model so don't expect to cut down, or through, large limbs, but it does the small jobs very well....
