Craftsman 22 in. Electric Hedge Trimmer —

I bought this trimmer because of the great reviews from this site as well as Consumer Reports. It felt really comfortable and flew through the bushes, hedges, and small trees in my yard. Like another reviewer noted though, it's kinda awkward trying to reach high places while depressing both buttons to activate the trimmer. I came up with an idea to use man's best friend, duct tape, to hold down the top button full time. Although this worked well for being able to stand on your tippy-toes and one handling the trimmer to get to those hard to reach places, I quickly learned of the danger from this when I saw a flash, heard some popping sounds and smelled something burning. As it turns out, as I went to remove some loose trimmings with one hand while holding the trimmer with the other, I ended up cutting through the extension cord :( I must say the trimmer cut through a 100 foot 14 gauge extension cord with relative ease. Would I recommend this trimmer? Absolutely. Would I recommending by-passing the safety switches? Absolutely NOT!
