Really! That's what it's like to cut thru stubborn, overgrown, ivy with this tool. For $59, you get a 4.0 amp motor and 3400 cycles per minute....these numbers are strong and fast! This trimmer is well-balanced, lightweight, and cuts extremely well. The negatives: Only two.... And they're not really negatives. 1. The four-position handle is more of a marketing ploy than anything. Don't get me wrong, it works, but isn't something that you will readjust on-the-fly. To change the handle position, you must unscrew a knob, re-position the handle, then retighten. It's easy enough, but I've found that once I set the handle to my comfort, I don't ever readjust it. 2. The noise level became bothersome after 40 minutes straight of cutting. Ha ha.... what would I expect? The Good: 1. Again, this thing is powerful! I have a 75ft long fence that was fully covered with thick / mature ivy. I'm sure that this tool wasn't meant for such a daunting task, but it responded with awesome results. Because the cycle time is so fast, I was able to cut thru the overgrowth using fluid motions of my arms. 2. The Lock-On feature proved very handy for this task. It allowed me to vary my hand-hold position; resulting in much less fatigue. 3. I like that there isn't a cord dangling from the rear of the unit. The eletrical prongs are hard-mounted onto the back of the unit. Summary: I'm estatic! I bought this unit only yesterday, sent it thru its paces, and today I see that it's on sale for $10 less...only $49! What an absolute STEAL for such a workhorse of a trimmer. Now, we'll have to see if it lasts over a long period of time. Can they sharpen the blades on hedge trimmers? Where? At $49, I would probably just buy a new one!
