Craftsman 26" 208cc* Dual-Stage Snow Thrower —
Overall value of this product is absolutely worth the money. I have used last years model and this years as well. Likes of last year vs this year is that - last years smaller chute will throw the snow higher up in the air but this creates alot of blowing snow in windy conditions. This years model has a longer more controlled chute but you cannot blast the snow over a larger fence (ie stockade fence).
When using this years model for the first time (12" snow storm with heavier snow), I noticed that the height control on the chute would not hold and the snow would push the chute up, this caused me to hit the neighbors bay window several times. luckily no damage to the window. A small adjustment after tightening the wing nut, the chute was more consistent.
One major shortfall for both models is that the chute will not stay all the way to the right or left. With manual chute control snow throwers, you can keep the chute all the way to either side, this is a great help to reduce snow from blowing back at you.
Other then the short falls of the chute, it's a great snow thrower. I was able to clear my 100' 2 car wide driveway in approximately 15-20 minutes, this is including what the plow left at the bottom of my driveway.
I will say the joy stick chute control is a great feature. you can drive this snow thrower with one had while controlling the chute with your other hand. Great feature for maneuvering around cars in the driveway or areas where you must change where the snow is being thrown many times.
overall I would definitely recommend this snow blower to any residential application. For commercial applications, upgrade to the 28" heavy duty model.
