surprising power for small engine

Craftsman 26&#34 208cc* Dual-Stage Snow Thrower —

Bought this machine in November after a 2 hour shovelfest from an earlier storm. We have had a lot more snow since then.Simple to put together, started right up.Was leaning towards the next bigger machine but got this size for easier handling.Neighbor has older, not as wide Troybuilt that I have run. This machine much easier to handle and operate.Chute control seems flimsy but when you get used to it much faster than the crank setups. With all the snow here[most in 10 years]started doing driveways for people around town. After doing for hire work should have gotten the next bigger size machine.Have put on about 12 solid hours of blowing and has not broken down yet.Only thing that broke was very top of chute.Called Sears and they sent one out right away.I did some drives where old windrows from city plows were higher than front of blower.Even though you have to go slow in that heavy packed snow this little blower can make short work of some pretty ugly piles!Ground through ice and chunks,no shear pins used yet.Only real trouble has been with fine dry snow and cold here having some carb icing truoble.Have had to cover engine while running with blanket to get ice issue cleared up.May have to install some type of screen on engine to prevent icing up.Installed my own light, just wired up halogen light attached to magnet and stuck it right on top of auger housing easy to take off when you do not need it.Perfect spot for light, works great!Overall great little blower plenty big for most drives, but maybe a bit small for custom work.Would buy again for performance and warranty support.
