Great drill for the weekend enthusiast. Excellent drill for weekend furniture making projects, as it both drills and drives very well. Another plus is that this one is definitely the drill especially for someone who would like to purchase a nice, yet affordable drill on a budget. I've had mine now...

My disappointments:

1. The drill speed lock switch is WORTHLESS. It only locks on at full speed (yeah good luck at planting that drill bit on wood or metal at 2500 rpm, your bit will wander everywhere)! All the other Craftsman drills I have are 15-25 years old, made in the U.S.A., and have the turn...

Craftsman 28126 6.5 amp Corded 3/8&#34 Pro... Reviews

This drill is only 2 weeks old and I have only used it a few times but I can tell you that it does have a good feel and balance. The power is very controllable with the trigger which also has a nice light feel. The handle is comfortable. The light to tell you if it is plugged in is a nice feature.

I loaned it to my friend to drill something on his truck and he also liked it.

The only thing that i am concerned with is that the chuck sometimes lets the thinner drills slip.At this point i am not sure if it is the drill or me but time will tell.

Overall i give this drill 4 out of 5 stars. If things work...

I purchased this as a replacement for my 25 year old Craftsman drill that, while powerful, was heavy and had a keyed chuck that wasn't very conducive to working quickly and easily. The grip on the 28126 is ergonomic and comfortable, with a rubberized cover. the trigger delivers only the power you need depending on how much you squeeze it. All in all, this is a great drill, and if it didn't have a keyless chuck, I'd buy two. Plus, the red body is awesome. It looks as good as it performs.

"I got the drill for less than 60 dollars, and I am very pleased with it. I got a new drill because my old one gave out, and decided to try Sears this time.  I was very pleased to discover the ease of installing and removing drill bits. It also does a good job of putting in and removing screws, which is laborious to do with a screw driver. All in all it is a great drill for the money!"

"Here's my take: I've owned a few cordless drills and they always seem to disappoint. They often don't have enough power to get the job done, the batteries are always running low, and the batteries seem to only last 1-2 yrs. Why spend $200 on a top of the line 18v drill that will only last 2yrs when you can buy this drill for $60 and it will work great your entire life. Buy this thing and then go pick up a $30 cordless for those times that you need the convenience. Bam, you're still in for $100 less than the top of the line cordless drill and you have two tools!

My previous drills aren't in the same league as this drill.  My last drill, a big name that alot of contractors use, was a dismal disappointment.  It also fried just outside their warranty.  Even if they had extended the warranty for me, I wouldn't want it.  The speed control was anything but and it was awkward to handle.

When I decided on a new drill, my first choice was a Craftsman Pro.  I know, from experience, you get your money's worth.  Like instead of sleaves, you get actual bearings.  Well, what I've found in this drill is good balance, smooth operation, and outstanding speed control. ...

I am  an electrician and purchased this drill a month ago . I have drilled and tapped many many holes already .This drill performed great . I intend to get the 1/2 pro drill next . The reason why i purchased the 3/8 Pro drill is that it has a higher rpm , which is really nice when you have to drill a ton of holes on a metal subpanel . Its fast .

This summer I wanted to put some deck lights up and found a wonderful set of low-voltage LED lights that fit the bill.  The only problem was they had to be mounted underneath the lip of the deck and required drilling out holes to fit them into.  Though we had two different cordless Craftsman drills, because of the thickness of the wood they just couldn't handle the job.  So off to Sears I went to see what type of corded drills they had.

I stumbled across this Craftsman Professional drill and was impressed by the price point so decided to give it a try.  I would not be dissapointed.  This...

Soild drill

I was quite happy with this drill when I used it to rebuild part of a fence. It worked flawlessly when I used it when drilling into some sheet metal. I got it on sale and with the craftsman club discount. Was a good deal.

I purchased this drill since the Craftsman Cordless 9.6v (or 12v?) drill just didnt have the power needed to use the hole-saw-bits I needed to work with. Great 6Amp power drove the holes I needed, but then noticed it doesnt have a torque-limiter. So looks like I have two drills for two different purposed. No worries... each have their benefits. I'll keep the 9.6v/12v cordless in the house and the corded in the basement for when I need it.

Regardless I'd recomment both, but they clearly serve different needs.

Craftsman 3/8" Drill

An excellent value for the price; drill is very well made, and has a nice, long electrical cord (while others are shortening their cords). Good, strong toque and smooth, variable speed.

I bought this drill mostly to help me polish my aluminum wheel on my truck, and let me tell you it works great! It has alot of rpm's which allows the compounds to cut faster which saves time. I tried to use cordless; however the battery would die to fast. The only problem i found was with the chuck. I had to drill out some hardened ex hast bolts out of my exhaust manifolds and the drill bits keeped turning in the chuck. Granted i know that this is a thought job for any drill; however if they could build the chuck to have a better grip on the bit. My air powered one did do a better job at this....

"AWESOME DRILL"

I would recommend this drill to anyone who wants a quality drill for a fair price!!

This drill is great and comes with many bits & pieces. Some extenders and other bits di not come with it, but the general bits and screw drivers are there. The Charge lasts very long, but if you keep it on stanby too long it will need charging. All in all a great great buywithout breaking the bank!
