My son's car had a flat and he couldn't find the locking lug tool. He also rounded one of the other lugs with the tire iron (which also broke). After towing it home, I went to Sears and bought this set. The sockets performed great! I was able to take off the locking lug and the rounded lug with ease....

Don't bother.

Recently bought a car with locking lug nuts but the car didn't come with the key.  I bought a set of these sockets to get the locks of and it was a waste of time and money.  I've got lots of experience refurbishing vehicles but these were one of the worst tools I've purchased.  I followed the instructions...

This craftsman 3pc flip socket set saved the day!!!!

My wife came home from work 1 day and says, "I think my brakes are bad". After taking it for a ride I realized she completely ignored the squeeking and waited to tell me when they were GRINDING! LOL! Needless to say I ran out at 7pm and got new pads and rotors, get home, jack the car up, take out the old four way with the wheel lock key, and CRAAAAACK! Mother loving, son of a gun, couch sitting, piece of shnitzel! Thats exactly how it came out... I swear! lol. The wheel lock key broke.

Next up, the old hammer a smaller socket on.... nope, just...

These worked perfectly

I had wheel locks that came with my Subaru new. They were excellent quality, very hard and I never had a problem till one day after visiting a quick change oil place for an inspection, the key suddenly came up missing... Subaru dealer was no help. They needed the code that came in a zip lock bag that was in the glove box back 5 years ago when my car was new. I wasn't sure what to do but after Youtube and Google searches, found these and they did the trick, and removed the locks no problem. A true Craftsman part.

Effortless

I recently bought a new (to me) vehicle only to find I had 4 locking lugs, and of course, NO KEY! Two hammer strikes and I was able to turn the locks off just like any other lug nut.

Locking lug nut removal

This tool worked perfectly after the key broke. You'll need a short - .5inch sq x 3 inch lg min. extension if using a breaker bar.

Craftsman 3 pc. Flip Socket Set with Red Pouch —

Great set, (  common sense price )

During the process of removing my winter set of tires on my Audione bolt became rounded thus making it impossible to remove.

Tried an Impact air tool and still it would not budge. Went to mylocal NAPA store, couldn't even find the right tool. Didnt even knowwhat size or what I was talking about.  And I Quote .....

" You want a rounded exctraction tool  ....what's...

just use a socket

dont waste your money on this item. the metal is not very good quality and on the first use the socket stripped out. there was more metal from the socket on the lug nut than metal from the lug nut on the socket. if you need to get a stripped lug nut off, or one you lost the key for like i did, then the BEST way to do this is take a 12pt socket that is almost large enough to fit over the lug and tap it on with a hammer. once its on use a breaker bar or impact to remove the lug nut. I spent over an hour with this product and could not even get 1 lug nut removed, out of the 4 i needed to remove. i...
