I really like the dolly because it makes it so easy to move around, and reduces the risk of back pain.  They say not to use it for more than 30 minutes at a time and to change the oil after the first 50 and 100 hours of use.  You have to determine what type of oil to use in your climate.  There...

I have had this compressor for about 3 years now and here are my thoughts:

Works well with staples and brads. OK with a framing nailer and sprayer.

This is TERRIBLE for inflating tires however. I cant even get the tire on my wheelbarrow filled. So much for not having to go to the gas station every...

Craftsman 4 Gallon Portable Twin Tank Side... Reviews

The convenience of this compressor is completely overcome by poor quality. What a piece of garbage! Excessively loud and after just over 3-months hose was dryrotted, cracking and leaking (only 3-Month Warranty on the hose, wonder why?) After only about 15 hours of occasional light duty run time, Piston Rings shot, will achieve only 38# pressure. (and not because of lack of oil, yes it also requires oil). The 4$ to 5$ Ring set can only be replaced by buying an entire piston replacement kit for $33.95 + another $10+ for Tax and Shipping. Better pass this one up or you will be really sorry!

Bought this air compressor about 2 years ago.  It just broke on me and I had no warranty left.  The copper after the intake had a leak so I tried to tighten it and the copper broke off.  Ended up using a compression fitting to screw back on and its been good since.  As often as I use this compressor I would expect it to last longer than 2 years without a problem.  Maybe I'm being picky.

This air compressor is perfect for the home owner.  It is powerful, airs up tires fast and is easy to use.  The wheels make it easy to move around and the long hose makes moving it not usually necessary.  It is easy to use with easy to understand directions.  I'll never have to use a gas station air machine again!  Now I check my auto tires regularly, air them as necessary which makes my car drive better and makes my tires last longer.  I also keep my bike tires tight and right.  I use an accessory to blow dust off shelves, and dust out of electronics. I don't know how I ever got by without...

The craftsman 4 Gallon Portable Compressor is truly garbage. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Mine failed at almost exactly the same service length and usage as the previous reviewer. No power - intermittant - maybe 40# of pressure. Hose rotting.

Folks, the customer service I received was great! I was too early for the, "Friends & Family" automatic 10% off. The Sears rep told me to not buy this Open box item and to come back at 6:00 pm to save 10%. Ok I said. Went back and brought the unit home. Tightened down all the screws to make sure they were snug. Filled with oil, air filter installed, fired up and went to pressure cut-off. Not too loud. UPS is picking up my Allpower APC 4028 return sometime in the morning. Fired it up and it could not hold air. All Power manufacturer sent me a new safety air release...I installed it to only find...

No problems at all.

I got this as a x-mas gift and have used it to build a deck (framing nailer) and have did a complete trim job (finish nailer) along with plenty of other jobs and have had no issues.  The only thing I have seen happen is if you try to use an extension cord the unit will bogg out.  I make sure I drain the air after every use and check the oil regularly.  I have been very pleased with the unit. I really like that it is on wheels.  I did have to replace the hose, it cracked.

I came from a Central Pneumatic Oiless 0.2 HP, 3 Gallon compressor. This Craftsman compressor pwns the CP one. I like the upright design which makes it not bulging out like other compressors. The accessory kit was great. I'm glad they included that with the hose to make a complete set. It also came with oil as well so you were not left hanging running back to the store to get oil.

You must read the instructions when setting this up. You can't just plug it in and go. Instructions were good, took me maybe a little longer to find some things but I found them all.

This thing pumps really fast. I am...

Almost three years and still going...

Not saying that no one else hasn't read the manual, but... before I used it, I made sure that the air tools that I used were supported by the capability and air output of the compressor. So far, I have used it to cut bolts and muffler tubing, repainted an office ceiling with a paint gun, did a house-full of trim.... The compressor was a little under-gunned for some tougher stuff requiring an impact hammer, but it still worked. I have used 18ga brad nailers, impact wrench, ratchet, impact hammer, spray gun, sander, and drill with this compressor and had no real complaints. Be aware that the compressor... read full review »

Leaked oil

Leaked oil almost immediately. But when it was working, it's quick and powerful enough for small jobs. Ultimately returned to store. Will probably get something bigger from another brand.

Trips Breaker

I have had this compressor for about 3 years no. I should have returned it when I first got it. It tripped the first time using it. I figured it was because I had it plugged into an extension cord. Much to my surprise it tripped the breaker after plugging it into an 20 amp outlet that does not have any thing else running off of it. I tried another outlet to rule out the possibility of it being faulty wiring. It trips where ever I plug it in. Needless to say, I have only used it 4 times in three years because it always trips. I also have a 15gal Craftsman that works perfectly every time. My final... read full review »
