Craftsman 4 Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/4 In. Screwdriver —

This is a wonderful tool for an exceptional value. It is very comfortable, very well built, and has just the right balance of power, size, and weight for common jobs around the house. It has a surprising amount of torque for its size and the adjustable torque setting works very well to help customize that to the job. The quick release collet locks bits in place securely and releases them in an instant simply by pushing it forward. This speeds up work where you are switching between drilling pilot holes and driving screws enormously. The two speed settings are also very handy. Low is perfect for driving screws without stripping them and high is great for drilling. The bearings are very good. You can put a ton of pressure on it to keep the bit from slipping when you are torquing down a screw real hard and it doesn't slow down or mind at all. It also comes with a nice, reasonably sturdy plastic case with room for a basic assortment of screwdriving bits. One other nice feature is that the charger has a light to indicate when the charge is complete. My only complaints are: (1) the light doesn't have a separate switch. As mentioned in another review, it only turns on when you pull the trigger and the bit is already spinning. Because of that, the light is pretty useless. And (2), it has an integral battery that takes several hours to charge. That isn't too much of a problem for me, because it has plenty of amp-hours to last through my typical projects (usually several in a row, in fact). However, it would probably fall short if someone tried to use it all day long on a construction site. (Then again, you could buy two of these for the cost of one with interchangeable batteries and then just rotate them.) Overall, an excellent tool and a great bang for the buck. Highly recommended for the average home warrior.
