I've had this jack for around 5 years now and use it several times a week. It has no problem lifting diesel pickups. Has never leaked any oil or bleed down like some of the reviewers mention. It does slowly bleed down if I'd leave it under something over night, but I haven't owned a jack that hasn't... read full review »

Bought this jack 14 months ago for home mechanic jobs like changing brakes, changing winter tyres etc. Great Jack at first. Used Jack less than a dozen times. Still looks new! Had no abuses, and kept in dry storage. Now leaking oil everywhere, on my garage floor; will not lift car. Sears warranty expired.... read full review »

Started leaking within one year and then stopped working completely within two years. For this price I expected more. Maybe I should have read the reviews first.

Piece of junk. Ditto to all of the other bad reviews. I jacked a few vehicles but the last 2 years it has been sitting in my garage leaking fluid. It should come with a warning instead of a warranty. The warning should read: Do not use for lifting purposes, will cause unit to leak. I think I will just donate it to the landfill. Not worth fixing from all of the other comments.

Received one of these jacks as a gift a couple years back. Used it maybe half a dozen times to change car tires. Starting leaking fluid, then quit working all together. Bought a replacement piston/operator through Sears. Guess what? The "new" piston didn't work either. Never again Sears, never again. I'm looking elsewhere for a replacement jack, American made this time.

I loved the jack when it worked. I have gone thru two of these 4 ton units over the last few years. The first one failed while still under warranty and unfortunately the second one failed after the warranty expired. Even worse, the replacwement parts cost more than a new jack. Good luck finding another 4 ton floor jack in this price range. I have older, smaller jacks that are still working fine, but you should look elsewhere instead of this one or prepare to be disappointed.

When I first bought the jack 3 or 4 four years ago, it worked great. One thing I liked about it was that you could release the pressure and lower the vehicle slowly unlike my other jacks. But within the last couple of months it completely died. I used it once or twice a month, but seriously, it should have lasted 5 times as long. I'm not even considering repairing it, even if that was a possibility.

Well, after 3 to 4 years of use, the jack no longer works. I paid quite a bit for what I thought was a nice jack to rotate tires etc. I expected it to last a long time. Imagine my surprise when I went back to the Sears website to check the warranty on the jack and found all these other not so great reviews...

I had this jack for a little over 2 years with only occasional use to rotate tires and change oil ON CARS! The thing is completely shot. If I pumped fast enough I could get it to work for a while but now I can't even get the jack to raise with no load. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

I used this jack less than 25 times and now it will not lift. Sears has no record of the model number but yet they are still selling model # 50156. You cannot get any parts to repair this jack and if you did it would cost as much as a new jack. Why would you want to buy another new usless piece of painted metal?

This is my second Craftsman floor jack that has died within 2-3 years of purchase despite being used maybe 20 times per year. The worst part was it died this time after the car was up on the stands - too high for the car's tire jack to get it down. I won't buy another Craftsman jack.

My wife bought this Craftsman "4 ton" Floor Jack for my birthday a year ago. since then I have used the jack on my 2000 pound car a few times. the jack had not been used for a few months. I was cleaning the garage and my 2 year old son was jacking up the jack with nothing on it and I noticed all the Jack Oil all over the floor.

My wife volenteered to take it back. She was informed that warrany had expired and nothing could be done except to buy another jack. I shook my head in disbelief because the jack looks like I just took it out of the box. Addtionally and subconsously i thought to my self...

Had this jack for about 3 months, used pretty frequently.  Noticed it was starting to leak fluid about a month ago, so i added some leak stop.  The other day i found it sitting in a puddle of oil.  Paid to have it shipped to a jack repair shop only to have them tell me its unrepairable.  Do not buy this 100 pound paper wieght.

Had this jack about two years.  It worked great at first, then slowly began to fail.  It took more pumps of the jack handle to lift the car.  Then the jack sprung an oil leak and no longer works.  I've had three Craftsman floor jacks and they all leaked oil.
