I have had my mower going on 4 months and I love it! Best mower I have ever had. Con: it is to safe. The seat safety switch is bad for getting on and off to open gates. The parking latch is hard to operate and appears to be, again, over safe. Pro: gets into tight places around trees and shrubs with a...

Most Helpful Critical Review

Purchased this mower in 2009. Within the first month we couldn't get it to start. Had to have Sears out to raise the idle so that it would run. The mower worked great for approximately 45 days. At that point it started cutting really rough. Lines of grass stayed taller than the rest and my husband would...

Bought this mower in Feb to replace my 22 year old Craftsman riding mower. My old mower had mulching blades so I made sure I could get mulching blades for my new zero turn. My mower was delivered in two days, but the mulching blades took over a month. Without the mulching blades the mower through the grass in the street, in the flower beds and even in the pool. Was I happy to get those mulching blades!!! Now I actually like mowing the lawn again.

42 inch ZTR well worth the money

Bought this to replace my 18 year old Craftsman. My mowing time went from 2 hours and 30 minutes to 55 minutes.  Absolutely awesome! Does a great job on the grass. Good power I climb some pretty steep and long hills without any problems. Not complaints at all. I have now had it for 2 months no issues at all.

Not what I expected

I attempted to use this machine for a start up lawn service company.  For its first 50 lawn or so, the mower did okay.  It got rained on the second day I owned it, and it refused to start.  I suspected water in the fuel, and had to drain its tank.  Thankfully, that was problem.  However, no other mower I've had, commercial or not has had that problem.  These machines should be able to be rained on without causing problems.

After 50 lawns, I ran into real trouble with this machine.  Its deck stabilizer grew very weak and eventually the deck was no longer level.  The tracking was next to...

Outstanding Product!

The 42" cut Zero Turn has been a true blessing to me as we own a horse farm and there are many chores to keep up with, in addition to new items to be fixed or modified, and this Craftsman Zero Turn has reduced my mowing time by 50%. It is very responsive and powerful, and the safety features create 'must-do' set of requirements to start and keep the machine running safely. The seat is comfortable and the arm rests also make it hard to accidently slip or tubmble out from. I like the accessible storage area and cup holder as well.My only initial concern is that there seems to be a lot of vibration...

I shopped around for a few days before buying a Zero Turn mower.  The selling features that I liked on this product was the electric height of cut and the great visibility.  Its a winner.

I was a bit concerned about how the grass would look due to the speed I cut but not to worry it looks great.

i bought this mower last year and so far am pretty happy with the purchase. i live in east texas and have 10 acres. I mow about 4 acres with this zero turn every two weeks. The mower did cut my mowing time in half. First the negatives, blades for this zero turn are only available online (at least around here, and i have 6 or 7 sears stores within 50 miles) and the blades are not made in "heavy duty". i can normally get about 2 or 3 cuts out of one set of blades before i have to order a new set, and they usually end up costing me around 40 to 45 bucks a pop. also, you sit kind of high so you have...

After a few parts fell off and came up missing ( e-clips on control bars and spring on transmission) I replaced with a different type, the mower has done more than I would have ever thought it would. At first I only wanted the lawn tractor, and as bad as I hate to admitt my wife convinced me to buy the zero turn. Glad she did. I love it. I do not have a large yard but do have a lot of landscape obstacals. Great handling ability. For the owner in New England. I thought my mower was also scalping my yard but soon found out that you need both rear tires moving at the same time or it will dig...

42" Zero Turn

I went from a lawn tractor to this zero turn. After shopping around this one was the cheapest. OK, negatives first; These machines are somewhat top heavy and for sure will dig up your lawn. In New England we don't live on the plains! We have hills. Be careful. They even give you a grade gage to check your hill grade. I'm about 5 mows into this new machine and I'm still digging up the lawn. The machine is loud. They insist you run wide open throttle all the time. I wished the deck height adjuster was manual. The positives; In the machines defense, I do have some delicate areas and that's where I... read full review »

Great mower

I bearly got this mower about a month ago, gave it some runs in different yards, and let me say its great. the speed is awsome, the handling is great. This is my first zero turn and i was surprised with it. Very friendly user. The cuts on the grass is great. I had another lawn tractor and the cuts were bad, with this zero turn everything is very nice and clean. really recommended it.

ZTS 6000

I bought my mower in April, I have a small lawn service with 6 yards to mow just for extra income. The mower is not good on hills. Cuts up the yard really bad. Cutting deck won't stay level, and hard to start. Also they don't make mulching blades for this mower, with the kind of shaft that comes on the mower. The blades that come with the mower have the round hole, not the star. The only blades that you can get are the ones with the star center. They don't make an adapter for the blades either. That's pretty sad when you make a product and then discontinue the original blade/pulley to where the...

It is very easy to start. It is very effecent on gas, it has alot of extreame power though. Its can handle from the easest jobs to the most hardest ones. Its deck is so strong for ever. And it has never had a part on it break.

Very good mower

This is a very good mower for the price. Many features you would find on a mower much more expensive. Mows my 1 acre lot quickly. Starts quickly, runs smooth, tough quality build. I highly recommend this mower over more expensive brands that your only paying for the brand name. Recommend getting the bagged for it also.

Amazing!

I bought this to replace my Yard Machine riding mower that had been dying a slow death the past coulpe of years (it was 10 years old). This new Craftsman zero turn cut my time down from an hour and a half to 20 minutes! It is fast, and cuts in both forward and reverse, which is nice. Took a while to get used to steering it, but now it is easy. I like the controls, they are all simple to use. The only con with the mower is that the gas tank is black, and there is no gas guage. Oh, one other con: now that it only takes 20 minutes to mow my 1/2 acre, my wife now thinks I should knock more off of her...
