Great edger

Craftsman 5.0 ft-lbs Gross Torque Edger with 500 Series Briggs & Stratton Engine —

This is one great edger! Assembly was a breeze - attach one metal rod with two cotter pins - controls edging blade height. Fill oil - of course you don't use the entire container supplied with the B&S engine or you might blow a gasket, resulting in a smoker killing bugs while you edge. The engine runs like a Briggs - easy start - 2nd pull - no hesitation - not very loud like the 2-cycle screamer alternatives - powerful cut. First pass I didn't want to cut too deep so I held off on the deepest setting. Then second time I lowered it all the way and what a difference. Beautiful sidewalk, drive and curb edges. No need to angle it on the street curb either although it comes with an easy angle adjust if need be. Looks great! The comments here got me to buy the 3 year service plan which might be a good idea given my Honda experience. Honda's little engines develop carb gum-up if you don't drain the fuel line and carb after every use - and fuel issues are excluded from their long warranties - service shops in Florida don't want to be the ones to tell you carb / fuel issues are not covered so no one will work on a little Honda you bought at WalMart unless you pay close to purchase price for repairs. Get the $40 3-year Sears service plan - you probably will never use it with this little Chinese gem.
