I bought this mower last year and have never regretted it. There are two things a prospective buyer needs to know about this mower. First, the plastic kick-back piece between the rear wheels is a pain, but it comes off easily. Second, I discovered that if the gas tank is not full, it will not properly... review »

I want to start off by saying that for the price the mower is a great value. I have used it with the bag and mulching (without bag) both ways does its' job. Fires up on first pull every time as it should. So, for the most part it is a reliable mower. There is a major problem, the height settings will... review »

I purchsaed this lawnmower based on the excellent reliability of Craftsman products. I removed it from the box, filled it with oil (supplied) and gas and it started on the first pull. I have a small yard ,about 1/4 acre and it is lightweight and cuts great. I use the rear bag and it is easy to remove and attach. I had a Craftsman mower before and it lasted 13 years. It is a great buy for the price. I bought it online, received an additional $10 discount and picked it up in the store, I would reccommend this mower and would purchase another when required. I compared it to other models in this class... review »

I was so excited about this lawn mower and the first time I used it, it proved to be great. However, since that day, I have not been able to use it as it turns over once and then dies, failing to start again. I have had a commercial contractor and my neighbor try to no avail. I'm disappointed and am hoping it's the cold weather causing a problem. If not, it's going back.

Bought this mower recently just bought my first home and it was my first time mowing a lawn. It worked pretty well, no complaints. It didnt start on the first 2 or three pulls but its a new product i didnt expect it to. Once it started up; there were no cut offs no leaks worked like it was supposed to. Highly recommended; especially for small yards, it wasnt hard to push pretty light.

I'm getting another one! Best money I ever spent on a mower. I've never had a problem starting it. 3 primes, 2 pulls, it's ready to go! Cuts lawn and bags beautifully! Bag is easy to empty and put back on. I bought it for me, but my husband likes it better than his J.D. mower. He says my Craftsman mows better. I recommend it to everyone I talk to about mowers!

We have had this mower for about a month. I have used it six times. The mower has never started on less then six pulls. I have filled the tank and primed as another reader sugested. But, this did not help. Also I notice blue smoke puff every once and a while. Other then the starting problem it does do a good job mowing.

I've only used it twice now but I am very pleased with it. Does a great job on the lawn and as someone else wrote you don't need to sweep after mowing. The sidewalk was clean! It's lite and very easy to use. The grass catcher is easy to remove and empty. Set up was the fastest and easyest to do, I was mowing in no time. Unfold the handle and it snaps in place, tighten the nobs by hand, add the oil and gas, done.

I'm a new mower - never mowed before- and was quite nervous when I bought this. It came fully assembled and I just had to attach the bag, fill the oil which came with it, and fill gas. The price was right, around $170 or so. The mower is very powerful. The grass was really high and the mower took care of it in just one run. I have used it 3 times so far. It mostly starts in first pull. But I have a 3 piece yard so I need to stop and start again. Sometimes it does not start with 3,4 pulls once I stop during the mowing. I would rather prefer a push start rather than a cord but its ok. Hopefully it... review »

Well, I have gone through two of these in one month. The first would not start and the second shoots oil out of the side. I have had good luck with Craftsman mowers in the past, but this model is a lemon. Thankfully Sears has a good return policy.

I had purchase this lawn mower and a couple of weeks later I used it for the first time. It kept acting like it wanted to cut off on me and my grass gets think and it will not make it threw my thick grass. But other than that it would be good for thin grass.

I have had this mower for over 10 years. 21" wide and the Honda 5.5hp engine. It has been the most dependable machine I have owned in 45 years. I have abused it badly on my acre of wooded hilly land and I have consumed 3 blades - that is how tough it is. All I do is change the oil every year and clean the air cleaner. That is it. The wheels are a little tough to raise and lower, but they have held up nicely. Surprisingly, the rear bag has also held up - I would have expected it to die long ago, but it is still holding up. Highly recommend and I seldom ever comment on things I have bought. Just... review »

I own a craftsman lawn tractor and wanted to buy a small mower for the steep inclined area of my lawn. This seems perfect for the job, it does good job with mulching, my grass had over grown up to 2 -3 feet, still mower performed excellent. It is a good buy especially for the price. If you have a large area I would not recommend this product.

I recently purchased this mower and have used it one time. I like the 21 inch deck. It is not a heavy mower and is easy to use, especially on hard to mow areas. I am not happy with the rear bagger as it does not catch clippings very well. I have used it as mulching mower and have discovered that it also does not catch the clippings very well as the rear deck lid does not seal good and some clippings come out the back, particularly on the right side. There is also considerable vibration when not mowing. If I had it to buy over again, I would probably buy a side discharge mower with a mulching attachment.... review »
