We purchased this mower from our local sears store after being a long time craftsman lawnmower family. It started up fine, but the engine surged constantly. There was definitely something wrong with the engine. While we cleaned it up real good before returning it, we noticed how cheaply made every component was. Sure, we were going for inexpensive, but this is ridiculous. The wheels look like they could snap at any minute. The undercarriage has no paint or visible rust proofing. The metal is so thin that any rust would probably make it disintegrate within a year or two. It was also difficult to start, taking 3 or more pulls.
Sears allowed a flawless return. I got my money back and bought a Lawn Boy, which has stellar reviews online. Yes, I did my research this time.
Good Luck to anyone who buys one of these!
