I have owned many chisel sets over the years and now buy mostly for feel in hand and this Craftsman set feels good, is a complete set and has the Craftsman warranty. Win, win !

Most of my work ends up being trim and cabinet type projects and I have a heavy locksmith background so boring holes and installing deadbolts and handsets is mostly what I use chisels to do.

While most of the work I do calls for a 3/4 or 1 inch chisel, there are instances where smaller is called for and it is always satisfying to have all you need in one set. My reputation also brings me work from family, friends and church...

I have had several sets of these over the years. I am a serious hobbyist that appreciates good quality tools. The blades on these chisels have remained sharp (I take good care of them) but when I've needed to replace one or two after years of service, Sears has replaced the whole set for me without question.

I bought the three-piece set rather than the five-piece.  I don't do enough woodworking to need more.  :-)

I have used Craftsman tools my entire adult life and believe in their quality.  When I needed to notch door molding for a seam binder oak threshold, I knew Sears was going to be my first stop.

Handle is comfortable.  Edge not as sharp as I would have liked, but adequate for the small job at hand.

I don't think you could find a better combination of price and quality.  Thank you Sears.

Almost ready to go

I have the 1/4" chisel, not the whole set. It came almost ready to use out of the package. There was a wire edge on the back that had to be ground off, which I did with a fine Arkansas stone. Then I honed a final bevel on the edge using a leather block loaded with Dico E5 grinding compound. The back is finished flat but rough except for a smoothed 1/8" section just behind the edge, which is a nice touch. After one or two minutes of honing, it cut like a dream. The handle appears over-designed to me but is very comfortable. The only thing about these chisels that really screams "cheap" is the short... read full review »

Sharp and strong

I have only used these a few times so far, but I can tell you that they come sharp and they can take a good pounding. I used them to clean out a door knob hole and they made quick work of it.

Great chisels, nice features

I picked up a set of these for small woodworking projects. I like them better then the expensive set I already had. The rubber caps over the blades keep them safe and sharp, and are vastly superior to the plastic caps the other brands ship with. My only regret is I have the 5 piece and not a bigger set.

These are very nice chisels good steel and very sharp. Wish they came with a tool roll to better protect them in the tool box.

Very good quality tools

I've had these tools before and they have always served me well. These chisels hold up under rough use and are actually comfortable in my hand. Having a lifetime guarantee is great.
