I bought my ZTR Fall of 2009 on sale + extended warranty. Mower will not cut even one side higher than other even after two service calls. Now Sears tell me there is nothing wrong with the cut and I have a slope to my yard ( 18" in 75' slope ) Also the battery does not charge during use I get about two cuttings and battery is dead and has to be charged to even turn the engine over and service replaced battery and said that was the problem, but its still not fixed. My last mower was a 25 year old Dixon that I never had a problem with the cut even on slopes. Spent around 400 to 500 on warranty and they will not stand behind it. Looking back I would buy an other Dixon. ( and nothing from sears )
...

Bought on 5/8/2010. With fully charged battery does not start. Have tried every week when I mow the lawn to start. It cranks for over 30 seconds without starting. Have to spray starting fluid. I followed directions. After mowing for 20 min. I can stop and start right up but not after it sits for a week. Called customer service and I had do some tests. Naturally it would start because I just mowed the lawn and motor was hot. Then I got "we can send a technician out but if it's not warranty you pay" But they sure want you to buy a service agreement for 600.00+. I have purchased many Sears lawnmowers, This is the last. Oh yeah Ordered a mulch kit. 60.00 for a piece of plastic! It's on backorder. Ordered 5/10/2010. Given a ship date of 5/31 now July 1. The mower itself mows pretty good.
...

Bought mower and it cuts and runs great, the thing that i am most unhappy is and the reason i'll probably return it to sears is false advertising. Your brosure and your yard and garden crew all told me that this unit has an hour meter on it and it doesn't, also you tried to send me another one out that had one and guess what, that one didn't either. so now you offered me a $300 gift card and a after market cobbled hour meter that you're sending me.. I am not happy and you people need to fix your online ad and train your people what your mowers have for options and what they don't have...i would of spent my $3000 somewhere else!!!!
...

Like another reviewer here, I purchased a 2007 model of this zero-turn, same specs and design but for a 50" deck vs. a 52". I mow about 3 acres of grass when its in running condition; unfortunately, I have had 4 service calls in the last 12 months. The starter has gone out, a belt broke, 3 spindles on the mower deck have broken (1 has broken 2 times now). The mower feels underpowered as well, it frequently bogs down and I find myself mowing at 1/2 speed often. If you intend to purchase this mower, I strongly suggest getting the extended warranty. I've used over $1000 in repair calls.
...

Just bought my 6000 last fall in time to use it four times. Comfortable to drive, and easy to steer after about 45 minute of getting use to. Saves me about two hours a mow, or about half the time it does on my riding tractor. Only complaint is that it is hard to start. Spins like crazy, but it won't fire. Will finally hit after playing with all types of throttle positions. I currently have two other sears riding mowers and have never had this much trouble getting them started. Would rate 5 stars if it would start properly.
...

We bought a Craftsman ZTS 6000 Zero-Turn Rear Engine mower in June. After mowing our acre lawn three times, it sputtered to a stop during the fourth mowing. After letting it sit for ten minutes, it started, but only ran for less than a minute before stopping again. After waiting a week, the repairman came out, only to tell me it was probably because "I" had the throttle lever in choke (which I didn't). After he left, I mowed the lawn. Two weeks later, I got five minutes into the lawn and it did the same thing. The repairman came out and said the choke was probably stuck and/or the transmission release levers weren't pushed far enough forward. This afternoon, I began mowing, only to have the mower stop again after three minutes. Now it won't start and it's in the front part of my yard and too heavy for me to push to the garage. After talking to repair, they said they couldn't come out until next Wednesday (six days). My lawn hasn't been mowed in three weeks and Sears...
...

I purchased this lawn mower 6/2009. Great even cut. Easy to operate. Love the 52" cut.(I cut approx 4 acres weekly) Zero turn is great except sometimes I get drag marks going a round trees. The 4 gal tank is just enough to do all my lawn. I love the cup holder for water. Cleaning my machine is easy with a garden hose and cleaning under the deck is easy by attaching the hose to the upper part of the deck. I did purchase the 3 yr maintains pkg and oh the mulcher is the best. I do not have to get rid of the grass clippings, save time plus it is good for the lawn....

I purchased my Craftsman 26 HP 52 in. Zero Turn Tractor on April 4th, 2009. I have used it quite a bit. Seat is kinda high, I cannot reach down to pick up something that might be in the yard, but I improvised and got a squeeze handle claw pick up tool. If your yard is not level, you will want to mow up and down not at an angle since steering is accmplished with rear axles/tires. I pull my Craftsman 42" yard sweeper & dethatcher with my tractor. Alot of power, too much tractor for a yard less than an acre, I mow approx 2 acres in an hour. I recommend the 3 yr unlimited warranty/service option, I already had Sears out once for an adjustment with the steering, if I hadn't the service call alone would be $85.00. I used to dread mowing now it is fun, I get it out to find other things to do . Have fun when you get your Craftsman 26 HP 52 in. Zero Turn Tractor!!!...

April, 09/09/2009 I just got my new Craftsman series ZTS6000 (28992) 26hp 52'' cut zero turn tractor today! My first impression was that I had purchased too much tractor. it was larger than I expected! But it's a great looking machine! I took it home put gas in it. It started right up. This is my first ZTR so it took a little while to get the hang of it, but after about 10 minutes I was cutting grass. This machine is quick, powerful and very responsive. So far I am very pleased with my purchase and I would recommend this model to anyone with 2 to 5 acres of relatively level yard to cut. Its very comfortable and secure, the seat is set kind of high but you can see better I think. The motor cover is plastic, looks easy to break. The deck metal could be a little bit thicker for longevity. All and all what I paid for it, I'm happy with this Machine...
