Easy on-off for wheel weights

I mounted the bolts for the wheel weights from the inside of the wheel and used an extra nut to fasten the bolts to the wheel. Then I fasten the weights on with additional nuts. This way, if I have to remove the weights I simply remove the outside nuts. I use them for blowing snow and they work great... read full review »

I mistakenly bought this wheel weight for my DYT 4000 Lawn tractor. It will only fit Garden tractors (which have bigger wheels). This is not very clear by the description. The store was no help when I called for assistance (prior to purchasing). I also tried the online chat with a rep...no help either.... read full review »

I put these weights on my PGT 9000 garden tractor in less than 10 minutes! Very easy to install! I can still check or add air without taking off the weights! I would highly recommend these to anyone with 12" wheels! Increased traction!

Required for attachments

If you are using any ground attachments, these are a must. It does take a little time to install for the initial fit, but they are much better than when I had to remove all the bolts as I did with my old weights years ago. Only two bolts to remove them to get to the air valve...not a big deal. If you use the slime product to prevent air loss, you shouldn't have to get to the valves very often. Great investment !!!

5 stars

If anyone is using a plow then this item is needed for sure. It provides excellent traction when using any ground enguageing accessories. I initially did not think I should purchase them when I got the tractor because I could pull the cart behind with no problem. It will more than pay for itself in cutting down frustration with wheels spinning because of inability to maintain traction without wheel weights.

REMEMBER THIS!!!

You can not put air in your tires with these weights on. You have to take them off and what a pain that is especially to put them back on by yourself. So, I took them off and made a weight rack that is mounted on the rear to fit the two weights

These weights are specific for 12" wheels. They installed easily. They look good too. I saw some other weights on a different tractor in the store and they looked 'very obvious'. These kinda blend in with the wheel. They seem to give the extra traction needed. Sears was great with the sale price PLUS the extra 10% for 'Family & Friends' which made the price SUPER.

Easy to install

I just purchased these for winter to help with dozing the snow. I put them on last weekend, along with the dozer blade, and thought I would try it all out before the snow got here. The weights were extremely easy to install, and didn't know this before, but you can actually stack two weights on one wheel if needed. I was very satisfied with the quality, and the amount of weight it added to the mower. I'm glad I got them. The weights should be used in conjunction with the tire chains I believe, as I don't think the weights would be enough with just the traction of the tires alone

This weight is a great value.  I believe this wheel weight will fit most of the standard 12" lawn/garden wheels used since the 1960's with 5 lug bolts.  I am uses it on a **********. Dont know if it will fit the newer wheels with 4 lug bolts.

This wheel weight was more versatile in application than the poor description available on the web site. It is well made and I expect to use it for a lifetime as long as the plastic cover is not cracked which will allow the cement inside to crack when it freezes.  If it gets water inside and freezes it will eventually crack the outer case and the weight...
