Good unit

It takes a good while to assemble and mount this puppy but once it's on, it appears to be fairly easy to maintain. The handles on the bottom of the bins are a nice feature but for a first use, things either clogged or filled quickly. I won't blame the unit as the property accumulated a lot of leaves...

I have the LT 2000 riding mower. I just cannot see how to attach the lower chute of this thing without leaving a big gap, or being hit by the blades. Other reviewers have the LT 2000 said can install it no problem. I wonder they are just saying it. Only if they have pictures and video to prove it.

Craftsman 6 Bushel 2 - Bin Hard Bagger for 42... Reviews

I have only used it a couple of times, but it has worked very well. I used it for the first mowing of my yard this spring, and filled it up to the brim several times. The full indicator could be improved, but it is relatively easy to undo the rubber bungie on the filler tube next to your right knee to make sure the tube is not clogged. When it does clog, emptying only takes a minute longer, if a tad more inconvenient.

All considered, I am pleased with the operation. The price point seems to be a bit high for all the blow molded plastic, but it is still cheaper than the competitors

I bought this bagger to help pick up leaves. It installed easily and quickly on my Craftsman pro lawn tractor and should on other Sears models. I have a huge lawn and figured out in one pass it wasn't going to hold enough to be a real time saver so i modified the whole setup to dump directly into my trailer. Basically I only used the chute (modified). I'll find another use for the bins in time.

Very Frustrating!!!

Does not come with bolts needed to hang support bracket and does not mention where to get the bolts. Unable to use. Also much smaller than it looks.

The chute does not clog with when mowing relatively dry grass, but the full indicator on the chute is worthless.  It indicates full (i.e. stops spinning) only when the bag and the chute is full.  This requires the removal of the chute, and since the chute is not designed for easy installation and removal, this is a big pain.  Fortunately, the chute is designed to fill up the left bag first, and then the right bag.  My solution to the problem was to cut a 1 ¾ by 3 ¾ inch hole above the handle in the top section of the bag that I use on the right side.  I then bolted a clear of piece of Plexiglas...

Two bin hard bagger

This product works perfectly. Easy to assemble and no clogging problems.  Yes the chute will clog when bins are full, but the grass has to go somewhere. You do have to pay some attention to the  bin full indicator to minimize/avoid clogging.  This product does exactly what it was made to do. Even worked with dew on the grass.  Not sure why or how other reviews have some problems. Easy assembly, attaches perfectly, and works like a charm on my Craftsman YT3000.

the hard bagger has the advantage that moisture and tears are not going to be a problem.  It is easier to empty than the cloth bagger and puts off less dust.  And cleaning is a breeze with using kust a hosepipe.  I have always used the hard bagger and would not consider changing.  After all, my bagger is 15 years old with no rust or deterioration whatsoever.  GO SEARS!

The product is well designed and sturdy. I chose the hard bin over the soft this time figuring they will hold up better over time. Of course only time will tell whether that was a good choice.

I would certainly agree with another review who stated "...the tube that runs from the mower deck to the bagger. I would make it from clear acrylic so you can see when it is about to stop up. (which is does frequently)." Even thought this appears to be a flaw with generally all baggers, perhaps Sears could make this change and be called innovative in doing so; hint hint!!

Assembly is quite easy, particularly...

Very durable

I have had the three bin version of this hard bagger for 20 years now on a Sears 17 horse lawn tractor. It has been whacked into trees many times...enough so there are creases in the plastic in spots. However, it works just as well today as it did when it was new...which is to say very well.  I can collect a ton of grass (enough so you have to strain with both arms to lift just one full bin) without problem.

If it has a disadvantage, as compared to open mesg "bag" baggers, it is that you cannot see how full it is without opening the top. On the other hand, there is no way those fabric back backers...

Debated with my husband about getting the hard vs soft bins. Definately glad we got the hard. The soft would have been a pain. I wish we got three bins. They get filled fast and are pretty heavy. We have half acre yard. Like everything about these bins, however the little plastic nubs at the end fell off and I lost them, luckily I found them in the grass clippings. Also not good when it is wet grass, gets clogged and have to take apart to clean which can be a pain.

Just what we needed!!!!

Was looking to find something that would pick up leaves as well as grass clippings and we tried it for the first time a week or so ago and it really did the job.  We look forward to using it this fall so that we are not overwhelmed with leaves next spring.  We are tired of all the raking.   Didn't have any trouble with putting it on our mower and it did clog up minimally but certainly not a problem to clear out.  Well worth it!!!  Hope we are just as satisfied after using it a few more times.

First, the hard bagger is the way to go.  It is very durable.  I just used it for the first time to clean up an enormous amount of leaves on over half of an acre.  It worked beautifully.  You need to realize that the bins will fill up quickly if you are picking up alot of leaves.  I had to empty it frequently.  However, when I got to sections that had few leaves it went a while without filling up.  Also, as the other reviews say, you will need to unclog the chute after it fills up.  Make sure the mower is off when you do this, as the blade is exposed at the bottom of the chute!!!  I got...
