First let me say that for the price I did not expect a case nor extra blades. I am so very pleased with this Craftsman refurbished reciprocating saw. My husband can no long do much around the house and yard. In 1980 He and I and the kids built our own adobe home from the ground up, so I guess I have a lot more experience than most women. Most repairs are logical and with the right tool it is amazing what I can fix. In the first week with this saw I trimmed the palm trees, removed a wind damaged tree branch, cut it up for firewood, and removed and replaced a water damaged fascia board....

Nifty little saw-easy to use, light weight and plenty of power
Purchased this saw a month ago and put it through its paces over the past few days. Caught it on sale for 29.99 and have seen it at 39.99 through 59.99 on the website.
The saw is easy to hold and the blades are a snap to place and release. It should be noted that it comes with only one blade for cutting wood so pick up some metal blades when you order. It comes with a light which remains on when the saw is plugged in to help illuminate the work area. I cut up a swing set with no difficulty however when I turned the saw to metal pipe, it showed it's weakness which is power. The saw ran very hot...
read full review »For Many years ago I had a Milwaukee Sawzall with single speed. Rugged and powerful but noisy and heavy.
This variable speed saw is just right for miscellaneous projects around the home. The unusual angle for the handle grip makes it comfortable for two-handed use. I like that the blades can be installed with teeth up or down. With the teeth up, the built in light illuminates the cutting area of the work piece nicely.
At first the chuck seemed to resist accepting the blade supplied with the saw, but after wiggling it a bit, it seated fine, and my other two 6" blades (DeWalt wood with nails, Irwin...
read full review »I bought the recipricating saw from Sears.com. I like the feel of the saw, it is quite easy to carry and use. The light is nice for when working in low-light conditions or when you have the power off in your house when working with drywall.
I wish the saw came with a case so you have somewhere to organize your saw blades and keep them from getting bent. That and the fact that you only get one wood saw blade to start out with, there should at least be a metal blade or tree blade that comes with it.
It's good for the average user but someone who would use this everyday would probably want something...
read full review »I bought this on sale for use around the house and it fits the bill perfectly. Yes, the blade takes a little work to get in, but once you get used to it, it's no problem. I would definitely buy again.
I would recommend this saw to anyone. It is amazing and affordable.
Used it multiple times and have had no problems with it
I bought this saw when it was on slae for $30! For the price, this saw can't be beat. It is powerful but light, and changing blades is a snap. I have used much more expensive reciprocating saws that I liked less than this one. Although I might not use it to continuously saw on a tree for hours, it works great for lighter tasks!
i bought this saw yesterday, i needed some metal chain link fence removed. The tool, did the job quickly and very well. It is small, lightweight and easy to handle.
The only real drawback that i noticed was that it only came with a wood blade and not a metal, i wish the saleman had told me or suggested to buy more blades, then i would not have wasted another hour going back to the store to buy blades.
When putting the blade into the saw, it had to go backwards, so therefore, i was cutting backwards. Is this dangerous?
I am well pleased with this saw. I can't believe they can sell it so cheap. I don't understand the blade retention problem I saw listed in the reviews. The blade lock is simple to use and works 100%. For the money, you won't be disappointed with this saw!
I bought that saw yesterday and cut holes on kitchen cabinet and drywall to install duct for my hood. It worked very well and the blade was easy to install. I didn't experience any problem of blade coming out. 6 amp is powerful enough for me. I like this tool very much. When cutting in a upright position, the sawdust may gather around the shaft. If the machine can blow out air from that area, that will be great. Maybe on high end saw it has.
